where the waves of turmoil
meet the sands of time
its decided whose love
will be yours, and mine

on the beaches of fate
where all things come together
it is here that its decided
who you'll be with forever

so, watch out for sharks
that may steer you wrong
and the love that you get
will be eternally long.

every couple has
their ups and their downs
their times spent in paradise,
and on the battle grounds

but its the bad times that make us
appreciate the good
and the love that must be there
or get through them, we never could

we must savour each day

Our Dreams

when the night is at its peak
and the winds have gone to sleep,
when the waters have calmed
no matter how deep,

it is then we set sail
for that magical realm,
with our soul at the sails
and our heart at the healm,

in this wonderous place
where all things can be,
the answers to our problems
are there for us to see,

but to see them we must first
be able to understand,
the dreams that we have
without our command,

so the answers that we seek
when the days seem so rough
can be found in our nights
if we look close enough.

LOVE!

love can make u happy
love can make u cry
it can also make you stop and think,
and really wonder why.

why we look so hard for something
thats leaves us so open to pain
why we need it so very much
and what we hope to gain

but in time the answers come flooding through
it may take a year, it may take a few
but if u are patient, and your love is true
one day the answers will be clear to you too

in the way that u feel
and the things that u do
and when the children you've created
come to you and say "I Love You".

Forgiveness

"to err is human, to forgive divine".
we all makes mistakes
and i have thought about mine

whatever the "wrong"
be it strong, or be it weak
the thing thats most important
is the forgiveness we seek.

the forgiveness we crave
from the people we love
is what carries our soul
on the wings of a dove

the people we love
make us what we are
their love and their wisdom
be they near, or be they far

so if they can forgive you
for the error of your ways
then you have a chance to be happy
for the rest of your days.

The Burden Of Time

when we meet someone special
and then fall in love
together we gaze
at the stars up above

we sit and look longingly
into each others eyes
and watch as the sun
lights the cool morning skies

we love with a passion
thats exciting and real
we know what we want
and show how we feel

but as the years roll along
the passion does fade
no more do we sit
in the cool summer shade

no more do we gaze
into each others eyes
or stare at the moon
or the stars in the sky

the love is still there
that much I feel
but the passion has faded
that made it all real

so we must have a way
to rekindle the flame
so the love and the passion
will always remain

for the heavy hand of time
comes down on us all
and if we're not ready
out of love we will fall

Bonds Of Friendship

One day a person said to another
person "nice to meet you"
and that persons said back "nice
to meet you too".
Since that time many days and
come and gone
and these two people still have a
strong bond
There friendship has endured both
pleasure and pain
they have supported each other
again and again.
By always sticking together
through thick and thin
they found there is no bond
stronger then friends.
Because even the bonds of love
would soon sever
if there isn't friendship to hold
them together

The Military Wife...

The good Lord was creating a model for the military wives and was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared. She said, "Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"

The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be completely independent, possess the qualities of both father and mother, be a perfect hostess to four or 40 with an hour's notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant and has the flu, and she must be willing to move to a new location 10 times in 17 years. And oh, yes, she must have six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her head. "Six pairs of hands? No way." The Lord continued, "Don't worry, we will make other military wives to help her. And we will give her an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in her husband's achievements, sustain the pain of separations, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired, and be large enough to say 'I understand' when she doesn't, and say 'I love you' regardless."

"Lord," said the angel, touching his arm gently, "go to bed and get some rest. You can finish this tomorrow." "I can't stop now," said the Lord. "I am so close to creating something unique. Already this model heals herself when she is sick, can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave goodbye to her husband from a pier, a runway, or a depot, and understand why it's important that he leave."

The angel circled the model of the military wife, looked at it closely and sighed, "It looks fine, but it's too soft." "She might look soft," replied the Lord, "but she has the strength of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced. "Something is wrong with the construction. I am not surprised that it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."

The Lord appeared offended at the angel's lack of confidence. "What you see is not a leak," he said. "It's a tear." "A tear? What is it there for?" asked the angel.

The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment, loneliness, pride and a dedication to all the values that she and her husband hold dear." "You are a genius!" exclaimed the angel. The Lord looked puzzled and replied, "I didn't put it there."
