Remember
Dad
Remember
those trips to the hardware store?
When you
gave me a penny for a gum ball and so much more.
Remember
when I got lost at the bowling alley?
You found
me in the pouring rain.
Remember
when I caught my first fish?
I didn't
touch it but you came running like I wished.
Remember
when I needed help with my math homework?
I was stubborn
but you showed me how to make it work.
Remember
how I wanted that 10-speed bicycle?
You told
me I had to earn it; it was more than a tricycle.
Remember
when I got my first car?
You told
me to check the oil before I drove too far.
Remember
when I got my own place?
You told
me I still make a mess of my space.
Remember
how I ask for advice?
You say,
why bother, you do what you want then think twice.
Remember
how stubborn I get some days?
You told
me I inherited that quality and it will stay.
Remember
how you are always here for me?
Dad, I will love
you for eternity.
Forever
your daughter,
~Heidi~
