Child Abuse and Neglect Test
This is a test to see how much a person knows on Child Abuse and Neglect. The answers will be linked to this page. This test comes to us from the Ohio Department of Human Services. This test is used in the training sessions they give.

All the answers to these questions will be true or false.
1. Child Abuse and Neglect occur rarely.
2. Child Abuse and neglect occur about the same frequency.
3. Abused or neglected children may become abusive and neglectful parents.
4. Spanking and other types of physical abuse are wrong and considered to be child abuse.
5. The difference between abuse and neglect is that abuse represents an action against a child while neglect represents a lack of action for the child.
6. Abuse may be directed towards only one child in the family.
7. Neglect is most apt to involve children form infancy to six years of age.
8. Most abusive and neglectful parents suffer from mental illenss.
9. Bruises on the elbows, knees, skin, or forehead are likely to be accidental in a preschooler.
10. Abused children usually will discuss the abuse in an effort to stop it.
11. Early reporting is encouraged so that the child may be removed from the home of the abusive parent.
12. You must have evidence of abuse or neglect before you report it.
13. If you report abuse or neglect and your susupicions are unfounded, you are liable for civil or criminal suit.
14. An anonymous report of abuse and neglect will not be investigated.
15. The identity of the person who reports child abuse or neglect is protected under Ohio law.
