Birth Plans
A birth plan helps to communicate your desires, preferances, and feelings surrounding many issues of labour, birth and early postpartum. Because of the unknowen and unpredictable path that this amazing journey can take having a birth plan helps to convey the important details of this time to your caregiving team. It serves to be an introduction of you and your partner to your birth team, be it Doctor, Midwife, OB/GYN and nurses. It is meant to highlight in a clear and concise manner your thoughts, fears and ideals of birth rather than demand or decline particular aspects of care. Establishing an open line of communication with your caregiving team is of upmost importance, using a easy to read, quick and simple format for your plan makes it both practical and easy to follow.
