As a Doula I work very hard to establish an open, easy line of communication with the clients I am serving. We discuss what you know about the birthing experience, what your ideal birth would include and how I can help you work towards achieving your goals.

As a Doula, I focus on preventative care, such as ways to avoid situations in labour that may result in a longer labour or interventions. I am a firm believer that if pros and cons of interventions and medications are discussed before labour begins that each client will be better able to make informed decisions at the appropriate time. During labour I encourage the use of varrious positions to not only increase moms comfort but also to sometimes help baby obtain a more adventageous position for that stage of labour. Some positions are to encourage the decent, rotation or delivery of the baby and as your doula I will suggest positions as I think they may be appropriate. Just as many other doulas I to believe in the power of a positive attmosphere, physical and mental relaxation and the benefits of natural ways to attempt to avoid difficult labours.
