Pics of My Car Page 1
While in the Install Process
Here is my sub box, along with my 2 Image Dynamics IDQ 12"s. To
build the box, we used 3/4" MDF. Lightning Audio's PnR (no noise) ports
where used also. This box is appr. 4.3 cubic feet. Which is a rather
large box for those who do not know for a pair of 12"s. I do not have pics
of building this as I did it before I was going to do sound quality. I
just wanted bass....
This is what I have used in my car for sound deadening purposes.
(along with some house hold products from the Wally) You will see this
stuff in about all the pics I have. It is V-Bloc1 from Cascade
Engineering. Seems to work quite well. My system before with the
same subs could be heard coming from miles away. Now with VBloc, if I have
it up just as loud, I can barely hear it outside of my car (besides the
rattling). Need to do something about that bumper though.....
This is my passanger side enclosure before I started cutting on
it. This is right after it was fibeglassed and dried. I have put
numbers on the scan to show where each speaker is located. In the future
enclosure pics you will be able to easily tell.
This is during the process of cutting out the enclosure. You can
see how the 6" hole had been cut out, with a circle drawn where i needed to cut
out the 4" from. I used a Sharpie (permanant pen) to outline the
holes. You could see through them where the original MDF patterns had been
designed, but by the time you started cutting on the fiberglass, you couldn't
tell so that pen really helped in this situation. Also something in this
pic; I forgot to take a pic of where I had sound deadened the inside of my door,
but you can see on the right side of the pic the door swung open, with the sound
deadening on the inside. This is VBloc on the inside of the door.
Here you can see the driver's side enclosure after it
has been cut out. This was before the inside of the enclosure had to be
sound deadened (as you can tell by no grey insides). Something else in the pic I
didn't take a seperate picture of was once the VBloc had been applied to the inside
of the door, you can notice on the left side of the pic, brown
material over the door. This is Dynamat original. So it cost quite a bit less. I used
appr. 3 sheets for both doors.
