| “I’m worried about Howie. The doctor told me that he is in a coma & a majority of his injuries are very severe.” She said as her tears continued to fall. Kevin felt awful. This girl was crying over one of his friends. Even worse was the fact that Howie could die. Tears started to stream down his own face at the thought. He soon saw that Jessica was gone & that he was left all alone to sort out his thoughts & cry. Jessica felt bad about leaving Kevin alone, but she needed to escape. She heard noises from outside. When walking to the window she saw girls lined up outside the hospital. They were singing songs from all the boy’s albums. They were fans that had come to make sure their beloved Backstreet Boys were going to be O.K. If they only knew Jessica thought unhappily they don’t know that they are fighting for their lives. “Are you OK, miss.” Said an unfamiliar voice. She turned around to see a man standing there. He looked familiar to her, but she couldn’t quite come up with a name. “Not really” “Do you want to talk about it.” “Have you ever been at the wrong place at the wrong time & then you find out that something fatal is going to happen to you, but it’s already to late to stop.” “No, I haven’t, but I am here because of something like that. My brother was injured in a car accident because someone ran a red light. He & his friends were all hurt.” She recognized him now. It was none other than John Dorough, Howie’s brother. |
