I sat on a boat that was taking me to an island for a very long overdue vacation. I was ready to get off the boat because one of the other 5 passengers was driving me nuts. She was a reporter also going on vacation. The woman had recognized me & questions had started. The other passengers on the boat were a couple going on their honeymoon, a retired businesswoman, & the final person was a lonely bachelor like myself. Then there was the captain of course who kindly pulled the reporter off of me. The sky had been normal for most of the trip, but I noticed the sky was beginning to darken & this worried me. The captain came down & asked us to get inside because there was a storm coming. We all slowly did what we were asked & walked inside. The reporter walked over to me & sat down beside me.
“Hi, we got…” she started.
But the boat hit something hard & knocked everyone to the ground. I looked up to see that the boat had been split in two. The reporter & I were on one side & the other passengers were on the second half. I was handed a life jacket & all I could do was jump into the water only to save myself from getting pulled under by the sinking boat & the currents. |
