MATRIX
Went to see it on Saturday night. The whole cinema was full- you seldom get to see this kind of scene in Hong Kong (where people are not too enthusiastic about the film industry). Anyways, what I want to say is, you could tell that all of us were full of expectations on this film. The result? Well, I cannot say it is a bad film because it definitely is not. The special effects and the fighting scenes are quite impressing, but all of it is expected. Nothing too surprising really. Story is still very complicated to understand. My mate sitting next to me kept saying that the lines are lame. and I had to agree. they are just too much! All those "I believe", "Neo, you are the Saviour", "you know the answer already", "You are who you are". Thats really more than enough. One of the most annoying character in the film in my opinion (and my friends concurred) is the Oracle. Stop playing the word games and tell the people what they need to know!!!! But generally speaking, it is a film you have to watch. just so you can join in the conversation with other people in the next couple of weeks when they all talk about it.

Rules of Attraction
I can summarise my comment on it in one sentence- A teenage film trying to be cool and Cult! (but unsuccessfully) Well, I appreciated the way the film was made- it was a flashback with million of pieces here and there, which all joined together to be a big picture in the end. Very refreshing in its style, but the most important part of the film- the storyplot- was absolute crap. Didnt tell us anything, no message at all. The actors were teenage idols and could be quite annoying.

Gap Creek
Not my type of book really. Too descriptive. it sounds pretty stupid, but I have tried skipping a few pages of the description of one tree in the forrest, and it makes no difference at all when you read the later pages. I have not finished it yet, but I wonder if it would make a difference if i just read the first chapter and the last. Probably all those pages in the middle are just description anyways!

Lullaby
it is a VERY Good read. When you finish the book, you will be impressed by the way the author (also, Fight Club) planned the plot. It was so detailed, yet not boring at all. Every detail has a hint to the later development of the story. It is one of those cult books you have to read and upon finishing it, it makes you feel pretty cool yourself.

Mika Nakashima- Love (CD)
This CD is the first CD of her that I bought. I have to admit that I simply got attracted by the cover. I always think that she is beautiful with style. I was a bit unsure about the songs at first, but then I visited her website and tried to listen to some of them, they are surprisingly good. It ended up the whole CD is something of quality! I especially like Tract #4. "Snowflakes". VERY romantic and classy.

How to lose a guy in 10 days
At first i was a bit reluctant to see this film because of the cast. Thats why I didnt see it when it was on in cinemas. I rented it a few days ago out of boredeom and it turned out to be quite a delight! Of course it is still one of those romantic comedies that you would be expected to expect, but there were some scenes which were quite funny (laugh-out-loud funny). The costumes were excellent too! I just cannot help thinking how glamourous it would be to work for a famous fashion magazine!
