George M. Cohan was born on the 4th of July, his career
spanned 55 years on stage, the writing of more than 35

Broadway", and "Yankee Doodle Dandy", are among the many. Premiered in 1942, this war time salute to American
Patriotism was just what the people needed.

a beautiful wife and international acclaim--until tragedy
ended a brillant career, but not his music.
