Open acid soil of wet meadows or sphagnum bogs. Often found with Arethusa and Grass Pink (Calopogon) orchids.
I found these ones in a medium sized bog on Negro Mountain in Somerset, PA. These small beautiful orchids were all over the place. Blooming at the same time were the Club-spur Orchids along the edges of the bog and back under the Hemlocks in wet areas.
