Wild Orchids
Orchids are the largest family of flowering plant, with 20,000 - 30,000 occurring naturally. Orchids are the second most geographiclly  distributed family, second only to grasses.

The occur in every major ecosystem on earth, except aquatic environments.

There are three species that grow within the Artic Circle and two species from Australia that grow underground, only the flower briefly reaches above the soil.
One of my favorite things to find and look for are ild orchids. Many people love orchids but what most people don't know is that they can be found close to home.

If you want to learn a little more about each wild orchid, just click on the photo.

If you have any questions about any of them feel free to contact me.
