The dense single spike of small white flowes is 2 - 4" long and sits well above the basal leaves. The stalk is a bit hairy. The leaves are dark blue-green with white veins that has a strong white line running the length of the small (1 - 3") ovate leaves. The plant grows to 18" generally. This plant is relatively abundant in well-drained wooded slopes of usually oak and coniferous woods. I believe that whatever woods I have roamed I have found this orchid. If not in bloom then by the leaves. |
