(CCEIT)
In the 3D Home Architect software, the floor plan is always the first step. The floor plan is where the creative mind of an architect, carpenter, and various designers are put to use to design or improve a house.

As well as being the creative part of 3D Home, the plan is also where all electrical, plumbing, and light fixtures are set up to make the house as comfortable as possible. These different options allow ultimate flexibility in designing a house.
Another creative step in designing your house involves editing and changing the outside of the house (i.e. roofing, siding, tiling, gardening, doors, windows, landscaping, lighting, garage, etc.).

This step is usually the last after designing  the inside, and it is usually where the home owner/builder can add additional personal touches and features.
After establishing what the creative home owner wants a 3D chipboard model is made to examine any possible problems with design dimensions and appearance, etc.

This is done in the "real world" because some possible errors can't be caught using a computer. The ratios between roofs and walls are better examined and refined through development of the actual model..
