Why do I have a site dedicated to Xander and Cordelia, you might ask. And the answer is simple -- they're my favorite Buffy couple. Yeah, yeah, I know, they're not a couple anymore. But, I think that's why I decided to start this site -- to sort of remember the way they were, and hope they may be again. Xander and Cordelia's relationship, although doomed -- as all of the Buffy relationships seem to be -- was, while it lasted, full of colorful diatribe, sparkling wit, and spontaneous passion. I never in a million years would have guessed that Xander and Cordy would *ever* kiss when they were vehemently arguing about being trapped in Buffy's basement that fateful day in "What's My Line? Pt. 2." Then, when they did, it was like total fireworks. And from that moment on, all I wanted was for them to get together. Their budding romance was just so adorable, and then when they started dating openly it was just plain sweet!

However, Xander had to realize a little late that there might be something between he and Willow, and he had to go and screw everything up with Cordelia!!! Don't get me wrong -- I LOVE Xander, it's just that he wasn't really thinking about the consequences, as high school guys are wont to do. And I don't blame Cordy for not taking him back -- at least not right away. Then Anya came along for Xander and Wesley (or at least the crush on Wesley) came along for Cordelia, and they sort of got over each other. But, when thinking about Xander and Cordelia, I often wonder what would have happened if Xander hadn't started dating Anya and if Cordelia and Wesley had kissed sooner and found out they weren't compatible? Xander and Cordy sort of patched things up and became friends again near graduation. Who knows, maybe they would have gotten back together and Cordy would still be hanging around Sunnydale helping the gang fight whatever new big bad happens to pop up. Then again, would Cordelia be the same person she is now if she hadn't had to go through everything she's experienced living L.A. and working with Angel? And would Xander be the same person if he hadn't had to deal with Anya for so long?? Man, I'm making my head hurt.

Anyway, the point is that I loved the chemistry between Xander and Cordelia, and I started this site because I wanted to keep the hope alive that one day -- maybe sooner, maybe later -- they just might meet up again and discover that old crushes really do die hard!
