Fall/Autumn
2008
I'll start this newsletter by apologizing the lateness in getting it typed up and available on my website. Things have been REALLY busy for me lately, and I've had more important things to deal with, aside from this part of my website. I usually try to get my newsletters up on the first day of whatever season they're related to, but as you'll see by the date on the bottom of this newsletter, I'm somewhat late with this newsletter.

As for work, I'm still working at Novi Boat Brokers. I'm still doing most of what I was doing before, and also some new stuff. If you're interested in buying or selling a house or some property in the area, see the ad to the right.

The other thing that has been keeping me busy is that I'm running for councillor in district 3 of the Argyle Municipality. The district goes from the house across from the church in Wedgeport, down to the last house in Lower Wedgeport. On my list of voters I have about 840 people to visit, in about 430 homes. I'm usually out and about visiting the people for a couple of hours after work. If I'm not out visiting the people after work, then I'm probably involved with one of the volunteer groups that I help out with.

Speaking of the volunteer activities, I have another one to add to my list. On September 20, 2008, I started training with the Care Clown people at the Yarmouth Hospital. For those that may not know what the Care Clowns are, they're basically therapeutic clowns that go around the hospital and make the patients, as well as the medical staff at the hospital laugh. There are three types of faces that we were trained to give our clowns, and I'm thinking that the tramp face would be the best for the character that I was going for, especially with my walk. I was looking to be a semi-cheerful hobo. As for the make-up of the tramp clown, I've made a few changes as we've been training, as it's hard to get the make-up out of my moustache. The white face just isn't me, as he/she is the butt of the jokes for the auguste clown. (The white face also requires a lot more work with their make-up.) The auguste clown is the other type of clown, and he/she is more of the silly one. Based on how silly some of the other people in the class are, that character isn't for me.

As for my other volunteer activities, I'm still involved with several organizations in the community. As for the Wedgeport Fire Department, they're having their Firemen's Breakfast on November 16, 2008. I don't really have much else to report on the other organizations that I volunteer with.

As for the pets, they're still fine. The dog started coughing a bunch here a month or so ago, and she was brought to the Vet's office to be checked out. Come to find out, she had an infection in her throat, possibly brought on by the amount of mold that had grown in (my former bedroom which was) in the basement, due to some leaky pipes and a problematic toilet. It was also discovered that she has heart trouble, and will have to remain on some sort of heart medication (for dogs) for the rest of her life. As for the cat, he's fine. Now that my bedroom has been moved to the non-moldy part of the basement, he's getting used to where things have been moved to.

As for the love life, I'm still not in any rush to get into a relationship with someone else, especially with how busy I've been lately. I have had another gal show an interest in me through PlentyOfFish.com, but the spelling in her message wasn't so good. I guess I classify myself as a "professional" kind of guy, because spelling mistakes bug the heck out of me, whether it's at the office or in my personal life. Heck, even if I'm sending an e-mail to my sister, everything has to be spelled correctly. I know it may sound silly, but based on the spelling in her message, as well as her profile, I'm not sure if I should be interested in the woman or not. (The details provided in her profile are also causing me to question whether or not I want to get into a relationship with the gal, as she's looking for something that I may not want to provide. I'd have to meet her and decide from there. She's also a smoker, and that's a MAJOR turn-off for me.)

Those of you that know me know that I've always had an interest in the gals that were a few years (or more) younger than I am (but I'd never go for anyone that was six years or more younger than I was). I found it strange that I was volunteering with a certain gray haired lady, and found her to be an attractive looking lady. With her appearance, I thought that she was somewhere in her mid to late thirties, but with gray hair. I was surprised to hear the woman comment that she was a "child of the 50's," which means that she's probably somewhere close to my mother's age. (LOL) Oh well, she still has a pretty face.

As for the past "love life," I was going to comment on an e-mail that I had received from the husband of a past crush. (I've had many crushes over the years, so that could be ANYBODY...) I can't really comment on what was said, so all that I'll say is that those people don't have to worry about me posting nasty messages about them because my blogs are no longer active. For those that use to read my blogs, I had removed them from this site, but was posting them on my "just for fun" website. With how busy I've been with work and everything else going on, I haven't touched anything that would even resemble a blog since back in February. I'm in the process of changing that website and once I have the new backgrounds and formatting done, those old blogs will be deleted permanently. If I have more free time, I may start posting something, and mainly comment on world events like the coming US and Canadian elections, and the next season of the Big Brother television program.

As for my mother and father's health, (as far as I know) they are still doing fine. They're planning on doing the same thing that they had last Thanksgiving, and are planning on going to Keji for the long weekend. As for my father's business in Pubnico, that's STILL for sale, but he's had someone that may be interested in buying the place. Hopefully he'll manage to sell it. In the past week or so, dad had the driveway at the house paved. I'm glad that this was done before the municipal elections, because the public may have thought that I'd used municipal money or something to have that done. I know of a councillor in another district that had sort of confessed to me to using municipal money to improve things at a family member's business. (Don't bother asking me who it was, because I'm not saying who it was.) I have no intentions of using municipal money to "better" things at any family members' homes or businesses, and nor do I agree with doing such a thing.

As far as I know, everything is still all right with my sister. She's been working at the store, and also playing baseball/softball during the summer. She's been seeing a guy from out of province, but I have no idea how things are going with them. That's another one of those things where her friends on facebook probably know more than I do.

Some of you may have seen a notice on facebook about me being a little nervous about something taking place in day surgery at the Yarmouth Hospital. I apologize if this is too much information, but I was having blood coming from a place that it shouldn't have been coming from. I was a little nervous about the possibility of cancer or something else being found, but was more nervous about having a tube with a camera on the end up it being inserted into a certain part of my anatomy. Basically nothing was out of the ordinary, based on what was seen on the screen. (I never thought that I'd see the inside of a colon on a monitor before, especially my own.) Once the procedure was finished, I was told that I need to drink more water and eat more fiber. That should be easy enough.

I don't think that I have anything else to comment on in this particular newsletter, so I'll wish everyone a pleasant fall/autumn. Hopefully I'll be able to publish the Winter newsletter earlier than I did this one. Later.
