| Health reasons: While using a kennel maybe good for some animals, using a pet sitter helps reduce stress associated with transporting them out of their environment and into a kennel. Kennels can be stressful for a number of reasons such as but not limiting to - confinement in a small area, unfamiliar noises, disruption of daily routine, and the transmission of diseases such as Parainfluenza-Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Feline Leukemia (FeLV), Canine Parvovirus (CPV), and as well as ear mites, all which are community diseases and highly contagious. Pet sitters are also ideal if you have multiple pets. |

| In life Sometimes emergencies come up, but generally I ask for 2 weeks notice for scheduled services, As much as possible during the holidays. Feel free to ask about last minute services, but availability is on a first come, first served basis. The more notice you provide, the better the chances are that you will be able to secure your dates. More ideas and information to ensure quality Pet Sitting Service. Please Don't call a few days before a major holiday and expect to find a pet sitter available on such short notice. Most holidays are booked weeks and even months in advance. Calling early insures that there will be time available for your pet sitting needs.. Make sure to leave enough food and supplies to cover your absence. Though I, as your pet sitter may be able to purchase supplies for you with advance notice at additional expense, no one likes to scrape the bottom of the food container as pairs of hungry eyes are anxiously await their meal. Also, time is scheduled to not only provide basic care but playtime and socialization, So don't want to use up time running around getting supplies. You Don't want to allow others access to your home during your absence without clearly informing your petsitter first. I tell all my clients that if I see someone other then they or a prementioned service person I will treat that person as an intruder and immediately call the police. You would want to leave clear and current information as to your location and phone number where you can be reached during your absence. You Don't want to allow others access to your home unless absolutely necessary. No one wants to run into Tom, Dick or Harry lounging on the couch when they come to provide care for your animals. Also, the petsitter is ultimately responsible not only for the care of your animals, but your home and possessions as well. It is in your best interest to reserve well in advance. I will try to accommodate emergency absences, however this is never a guarantee that I will be available at the last moment. You'd want to tell me as your Pet Sitter about potential health or behavioral problems. Knowing that Spot is protective over his food.. or Miss Kitty doesn't like to be picked up is information I need to know in advance so I can avoid any problems Please call as soon as you return. There are many unexpected events that may delay your arrival. If you need me to continue to provide care for your pet n your absense, need to let me know. Please Don't forget to pay in advance. This is so we don't have to make plans to meet up and settle payment. As it will have to be a scheduled meet at the fee of a pet sitting visit. Have a wonderful vacation/business trip/visit knowing that your home is secure, your animal(s) is well cared for, loved and happily awaiting your return. |
