My Trachemys Scripta Elegans
Myrtle was my first turtle, and I felt he needed a buddy so I got her Chomps and right now they share the 90 gallon tank. They get along great, except at feeding time when Myrtle has nothing on his mind but food, and he always just shoves Chomps out of his way. He was born some time in June('98) I think, and was bought from a pet shop for about 20 bucks and was only the size of a quarter (I know the law...but oh well thats the stores fault not mine). After a week of getting used to his new surroundings he was begging for food in less than a week.....he usually wins most of the time.
Update!
It now appears Mrytle may be a male, and not a female. Mrytle has stayed at 5.5" for about 3-4 months. I have noticed a little bit of front claw growth, but her tail is still quite small. He is now in a 90 gallon tank with Chomps, and I am expecting 2 new additions this week(7/18/99).
Here are the pictures!
