Information and notes: parents Georg and Maria
According to Janez Flajnik (a nephew of Maria), Frank Flajnik, born about 1881 according to U.S. Census information, was the son of his father's sister. This means that Janez's father had a sister who married a Flajnik, since Frank's last name was a Flajnik. When I requested such a marriage from the Slovenian archives, the only one found was the Georg Flajnik and Maria Flajnik here recorded. The birth date of Frank Flajnik has been confirmed by his last surviving son. Frank's oldest daughter, Mary Flajnik Yazvac, said that they were not related to Janez Flajnik's family. Perhaps she meant that her paternal Flajnik family (i.e., the one to which the surname was owed) was not related, or she knew that her father's father came from a different family, and did not know that her father's mother was also a Flajnik.
Except for the tying of this Frank Flajnik to the one who immigrated to Fallston, Pennsylvania, United States of America, all the information on Georg and Maria comes from the church records of the archdioceses of Ljubljana. They issue certified copies of baptismal and marriage certificates on request for a fee. Several family members keep copies of the records received.

Information and notes: Franz or Frank

I have not been able to locate Franz' immigration to the United States. According to the 1910 U.S. Census, he immigrated in 1902, and his wife in 1908. However, it gives 8 years married, and specifies that it is Frank's second marriage and his wife's first. Experience with the U.S. Census records generally suggests that second marriages are not very accurately recorded, but it is common to omit second marriage information or confuse it with first marriage information, but rare to fabricate a second marriage out of thin air. The 1920 U.S. Census does not provide any immigration information. According to the 1930 U.S. Census, Frank immigrated to the United States in 1900 or 1901. Thus, it is possible that he immigrated in 1905 (and 1902 is a first marriage back in Slovenia); it is also possible that he immigrated in 1902.
Other U.S. Census records show that immigration years tend not to be accurate all the time.

In the 1930s, when the Great Depression hit, there was a foreclosure on Frank Flajnik's property at 65 Beaver Street, Fallston, Pennsylvania.
Frank Sources & Notes
birth date The birth date of Franz Flajnik in Perudina, Slovenia matched well with the circa 1881 birth date suggested by the U.S. Census records. The birth date has been confirmed by Frank's last surviving son.
spouse and marriages sdgfsd possession.
immigration According to the U.S. Census information, Frank immigrated to the United States in 1902. However (see note above), there is reason to believe that it could be 1905. There is a Franz Flajnik in the Ellis Island database who immigrated in 1905 at the age of 18; his birthplace is given as Hiast [maltranscription of Hrast]. The year, 1905, is in agreement with U.S. Census records, and agrees circumstantially with his settlement in Fallston, Pennsylvania. However, the age is incorrect (Frank should be 23 or 24 in 1905 - he could have been 18 in 1900, though). There is also a Franc Flajnik who immigrated in 1920 at the age of 16, but this cannot be him, since he is already established in Fallston by 1906. It is known there was another Frank Flajnik in Fallston, at the other end of town, and this is likely the Franc Flajnik of 1920.
residence Information from a son of neighbor Janez Flajnik, now known to be a cousin.
