Geron The Tramp
Geron Busabos - Ang Batang Quiapo (Geron Le Vagabond - L'Homme de Quiapo)

The character of what would later on be the archetype of the Filipino action hero is established as an essentially peaceful person drawn to fight against the forces of violence to emerge as the defender of the weak and the oppressed and true champion of the masses. In the urban proletarian drama, he is portrayed to be an illiterate youth of unknown parentage earning his keep in Manila's bustling section. Strong and brawny, he comes to the rescue of market vendors, lowly stall owners, jeepney drivers and other poor folk victimized by a notorious gang of crooks extorting protection money. His otherwise pleasant personal milieu is upset when a twist of fate finds him suddenly besieged both by the criminal underworld and the long arm of the law.
