I also spent a couple of years on the road as a bum and a lot of years lost in substance abuse so I also appreciate things like sheets and what is generally accepted as reality. There have been times when I've had one or the other or both of these missing from my life.
My day job is as a computer network operations specialist, a fancy pants title that means I monitor alarms and do first line remote intervention on the telecommunications and data network for PG&E and no I haven’t seen Erin Brokovich. (Update - I rented the movie recently... ouch. One of the downsides of working for a large Corp is assuming some collective guilt for that Corps actions.)
For fun I like to hike, practice Tai Chi, play with my grandson, go birding, read history and TRAVEL as you may have gathered from my page.
I am a bit of an amature naturalist and enjoy birding, and studying the local ecosystems. I seldom travel without a local bird guide and study the plants, animals, ecosystems, sociology and history of a place before I leave on a trip.
I spend a fair amount of time doing recovery related volunteer work at nearby prisons and after 12 years in recovery still go to lots of meetings.
