Blower -B.O.B. Derby (with different motor to that usually supplied). Tracker action on manuals, pneumatic action on pedals (much of the pedal pneumatic tubing is missing - probably stolen for its scrap value). There are about 19 damaged pipes, many from the Swell Organ and some from the Choir organ
Spring 2002 Electrical Engineers A. Alexander renewed the 3-phase wiring and switchgear to the blower. This enabled the organ to be played again after a 5-year silence. Much work has still to be done to the remainder of the organ for it to be fully functioning.
March 2003  The charge pneumatic system for stop registration is becoming more unreliable as time goes on.  Years of overheating have taken their toll on the timbers (several of which have shown long cracks) and leatherwork in the organ. As far back as 1969, when the building was still Methodist Central Hall, organ-builder James Mackenzie strongly recommended the fitting of a humidifier inside the organ. This was not carried out.

September 2003. In spite of the problems mentioned above, which have slightly abated,  the organ is still useful for practice, and will be suitable for the teaching of beginners. If the reader would like to propose some ideas for fund-raising, these would be welcome. Send an e-mail to John.
October 2003 The ivory-covered keys on all three manuals were cleaned using lemon juice. It worked a treat. The dark staining has gone, thanks to the lemon juice and some elbow grease.
November 2003 The heating pipes which pass through the interior of the organ were lagged.. This helped to reduce the temperature somewhat, although it is probably a case of  "shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted".
