This fine Makin electronic organ (built 1986) was purchased in October 2004 from Roddy Fraser, proprietor of Soundtec, Irvine. Roddy looks after the Gem organ at St Thomas' Gallowgate
Having an organ at home is a great incentive for regular practice as long as my downstairs neighbour is out. Having said that, it can be played quietly as well, and this is useful on a Saturday evening for practising the occasional unfamiliar hymn notified on the telephone by Peter, our Minister.
Regular practice on this organ was instrumental (pardon the pun!)in my passing Associated Board Grade 7 on Organ, back in March 2005. Work towards Grade 8 continues on a daily basis. |
