As many of you know, we had (in the past) some experiences with an Arachnoid Race known as the Ilwrath. They basically wiped out 2/3's of our population during their Genocidal Jihad. This Jihad was of course instigated by the Umgah, a race of bloblike practical jokers. The Umgah, it seems, impersonated the Ilwrath Gods: Dogar and Kazon, and sent them to "kill the birdlike creatures," or something like that; so naturally, they came to pay us a visit. We of course, do not harbor ill-will towards the Ilwrath. Without death there can be no birth, and thanks to them, we had a multitude of births; and re-births as well mind you!!
Anyway, this was soon all forgotten, and a new Era of Prosperity was ushered in. We Pkunk began trading with the Ilwrath, and they seemed to be open to new ideas. The Greatest Ilwrath during this time of Enlightement and Good Feelings, was their Leader "Dorzar III." He was a Wise, and Open-Minded individual, who we were proud to call "Friend." He opened up trading between our races, and embraced all new forms of music from our archives. (*Disco, Bagpipe Music, Middle Eastern, and Indian. These were used as a greeting to all enemy ships.*) We felt a Great Loss the day his Evil Brother Dorzar IV killed him and assumed control of the Ilwrath. Since then they have been nothing, but Party Poopers, and Ignorami.
After Dorzar III's Death, however, there was a rather large conflict between the Alliance of Free Stars, and the Ur-Quan. A most Vile, Ignorant race who's purpose it was to Enslave, Imprison , or Cleanse (depending upon which variety you ran into). Needless to say, we voted for none of the above, and so aided the Human Captain "Michael Zelnick" to defeat the Ur-Quan battle platform, thus enabling Freedom to once again Reign Supreme.
Perhaps the most exciting thing to happen recently, however, is the Re-Unification of the Pkunk with the Yehat!! Truly it was a glorious merger, as they fought against themselves, (and of course us) to try and shed their old Ignorant, Insensitive, Vengeful Ways, and become more in Tune with the Universe. Many lives were lost in that Outward Display of Inner Conflict, but many Births also followed. In fact, there have recently been some births which share both Pkunk and Yehat Blood. Rejoice in the Glorious Fusion!! Praise the Rapturous Co-mingling!! The Universe has gained a New Expression of Love and Forgiveness. The Yehat themselves have become more aware of how Empty and Meaningless their lives were, and have even appointed a Pkunk as their New Queen. They have embraced Art, Music, Aromatherapy, Forgiveness, and are becoming Quite Spiritual in their own sophomoric way. |
