Mk 14:38- Our old nature is never completely gone.  We must stay in prayer and vigilant in order to keep from relapsing into old destructive behaviors.

Rm 12:3- As we experience success in turning our lives around, we may slip into self-pride.  None of us are perfect,"no not one",  Our daily inventory keeps us thinking "soberly".  We have had some success and now we need to thank God and ask Him for help to continue our lives.  When we make an error we admit it promptly and ask God for forgiveness and for help to correct the situtation.  God helps us stay focused on who we are and the direction He wants us to go in our lives.

1 Thes 5:17-22- There is a five-fold request in this scripture.  First, we are to pray constantly; second, we are to praise God and be thankful; third, we are to invite the Holy Spirit into our lives; fourth, we are to search for God's direction and will for all of our future activities, and we are to engage in regular and constant evaluation of our assets and liabilities.

Heb 2:1-3- As we enjoy our new  assurance and progress in life, we must be ever watchful.and that we do not need to continue with our seeking the guidance of God in our lives. We must not drift into the old behaviors that have cause so much ruin to ourselves and others

1 Pet 2:11- In order to continue our growth it is vitally important that we stay in God's Word so that we may "grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."(2 Pet 3:18)

Ps 85:8,9- We may lapse into old patterns of negative thinking and feelings, including envy, fear, resentment and self-pity.  Only the rigorous honesty that we bring to the practice of personal inventory and a willingness to "hear what the Lord will speak" provide the antidotes against self-delusion.

Ps 103:8-18- We are to be continually reassessing our lives.  Are we careful to honor, obey, and serve God with humility? Each day we must honestly, humbly inventory ourselves, admitting our shortcomings to God and asking Him for strength to overcome our problems. God then responds with mercy and remembers that we are fragile and weak.  He has pity on us as a father has pity on his own children.  Each day is a chance for growing.  His mercy is "from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him."

Jn 4:13-14- We have thirsted for love security,self-worth and peace, and we tried to quench those thirsts through inappropriate bvehavior patterns. We now have put our trust  in Jesus Christ who gives us a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. The water is the Word of God  that satisfies and purifies our spiritual lives and we are nurished and enriched.

Rm 8:26-28- This scripture assures us that we have divine assistance from and through the Holy Spirit as we seek to commune with God.  He intercedes on our behalf to express prayer needs that escape our own awareness or that exceed the language of our human vocabulary.  These expressions for us are always in the will of God.

Gal 2:20- Through rebirth and awakening, we let God resume His rightful position as the centerpiece of our lives.  God does for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Phil 4:6-9- What a great set of scriptures!  We are not to be anxious, to pray and ask with thanksgiving,we gain the peace of God which is past all of our fleshly knowledge that guards us through Jesus Christ, and we are to think only about good things of the highest value. Through this formula, we find that many of the "bumps" we encounter in our lives can be smoothed out spiritually in our lives.  Pure Assurance!!!

Titus 3:1-7- The miracle of salvation through Jesus Christ is that we do not have to work our way to heaven.
We can't buy it, we can't earn it, or get it through a sense of self-righteousness.  It is a gift of God. (vv 5,6)

Ps 84:5-12- The faith journey may not be easy. Daily we encounter rough roads of temptation but if we persist in trusting and obeying God, He will strengthen us.  He will bestow grace, glory, and countless blessings on all who are His children.

Ps 127:1,2- We who have gone this far in this program have figured out that our self-grandizing and "self-made man" activities are hollow at best and can lead us to distruction. God is pleased with those who rest in Him, those who seek His direction and rejoice in His wonderful gifts to us.
STEP 12-
                PLACES OF REFUGE
Mk 5:18-20-How do we carry the message?  Our own new lifeistyle is a living witness to success. The sharing of our own personal stories is a powerful witness.  We tell of what God has done in our lives and relate how God can help and will help all who come to Him.

1Cor 9:22-27- We need to be ever alert to share the Gospel with others.  We must keep vigilant for the need for spriritual self-discipline is never ceasing.  We need to apply these priciples in all we do.

1 Cor 15:10- This is a grace filling step.  We are charged to mirror all God has done for us to others as living testimonies.  We can only do this through the Grace of God.

1 Tim 1:12-16-God wants to use our triumphs over our past to glorify Him.  He places before us opportunities to share how we have changed.  Sometimes we feel that we are not good enough for God to love or save.  Others feel that way too and, through our testimonies, we can show them that God's love is for all.

Ps 92:1-4- A spiritual awakening is an ongoing, unfolding experience. As we "carry the message to others",we declare God's lovingkindness and faithfulness.

Ps 96:1,2- Doing this, people see our new values and the strength and that the love of God has poured into our lives.  The very way that we live our lives will show forth His salvation. We also become willing to share what God has done in our lives.  God will use our witness to glorify Himself . The Holy Spirit helps us find the words to say and will do the work of transforming others' lives too.

Prov 31:26-31-Words, actions, and attitudes influence people we talk to.  By following God's Word, by obeying His will for our lives, and by being thankful for God's blessings in our lives, we are able to use the guidance of the Holy Spirit through all of our witnessing.  We can embody the ideal which is given us in this scripture as we practice this step as a regular part of our own lives.

Patient sufferers have most of the Divine consolations, which abound as afflictions abound. It works needful experiene of ourselves. This hope will not disappoint, because it is sealed with the Holy Spirit as a Spirit of love. It is the gracious work of the blessed Spirit to shed abroad the love of God in the hearts of all the saints. A right sense of God's love to us, will make us not ashamed, either of our hope, or of our sufferings for him.
Tribulation

Through this, we learn to be patient and let God be God.  This assurance gives us the experience we need  to face not only this present tribulation, but tribulations to come.
We emerge from our difficulties with the experience to know that the sure hope of  the eternal blessing and blessings in the present backed by the love offered by God to us through Jesus Christ , our Lord, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
