Morning Hum As I sit in the gazebo, Not long out of bed, I see a little hummingbird, Go zooming past my head. The flower pots, with blooms so bright, Are filled right to the top. Each flower filled with nectar, Is where he makes a stop. Slowly I sip my coffee, As he zooms past me again. With the early morning sunshine, He is my faithful friend. I love the way the sunlight, Sparkles on his back. He looks just like an emerald, When he stops to take a snack. All summer I will watch him, With the early morning sun. And I know that he will leave me, When summers warmth is done. Written by Poca 20 May 2001 |
