~ Stolen ~

Did you think I wouldn't notice
that you stole your heart away?
I have bumps on my forehead
from banging into your walls,
in the dark;
walls you constructed
while you thought I was absent
or not paying attention.
I watched their construction
in shock, emotionally paralyzed,
amazed and uncertain as to why you built them.
And then you persisted in
pretending they weren't there.
I'd rather see the medic, now,
than spend another minute
in the presence of your
phony affection.
Call the medic.
Ice the swellings.
Amputate the parts of me that still love you.
