Bedding plants, fresh salads and organic vegetables available Monday to Friday
Introduction
On the Northern shores of Lough Derg amongst the oak wood Richard De Burgo the 4th Earl of Clanriarde built a magnifiient semi-fortified house circa 1618. Like all grand houses of the time it was necessary to provide fruit, flowers, herbs and vegetables for the great house.
Surrounded and proteted by brick faced walls, the Kitchen garden had remained hidden and neglected over the years. In 1997, a local community group formed a unique partnership with Duchas-The Heritage Service and FAS and commenced work to restore the 17th century walled kitchen garden to it's original splendour.
