Bio
Power Plant from Northwestern New Jersey, formed in early 1995.  Twin brothers Rob and Kevin Nichols (ex-Mortuary, Decomposed-NY) met vocalist Matt Friel (ex-Covenant, Hollow).  The trio had instant success creating original music.  Power Plant played it's first show in June 1995, opening for the legendary DEATH, with Dave Couillou (Freak Seed) as session bassist.  The trio recruited bassist John Faller, and recorded a five-song demo titled "Unkown" in February 1996, produced by Alap Momin.
Bassist/Producer Roy Prichard joined Power Plant following John Faller's departure in the fall of 2001.  Power Plant recorded their second CD titled "Organic" at Daydream Castle in beautiful Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, in the winter of 2001.
The vocal duties were handed to Kevin and Rob's cousin Francois Fatras, a long time musical companion, following Matt Friel's departure in 2002.  A third CD was recorded as a limited edition demo titled "Surging", released in the winter of 2003.
In early 2005, Power Plant unleashed their 4th CD titled "Vortex".  The CD contains new material as well as re-recorded older songs, totaling 20 songs, spanning their ten year debauchery.  Ten new songs have been prepared for a new album that will be released in late 2006.
Fans of Power Plant have characterized their sound as a cross between Hard-Core and Death Metal music.  Their influences include:  Black Sabbath, Biohazard, old Metallica, Napalm Death, Agnostic Front, & Celtic Frost.
