MY FAVOURITE BOOKS

More than anything else, I love reading books. Reading gives you the time to enjoy what you are taking in at any point of time at leisure. I do not like classics much now, though I used to enjoy reading them at an early stage of my life.

Roughly, my book reading pattern has changed as follows over a period of time:

Indian Folk tale comics -> Folk tale books -> Pinnochio stories -> The adventures of Tom Sawyer -> Enid Blyton Mysteries -> Sherlock Holmes -> James Hadley Chase -> Robert Ludlum -> Jeffrey Archer -> Frederick Forsyth -> P.G. Wodehouse -> Eric Van Lustbader -> Jack Higgins -> Edward De Bono -> Akio Morita -> Archie's comics -> Michael Dell -> Jim Rohwer -> ???

My favourite thriller till now:

"The Bourne Identity - Robert Ludlum". I have seen no other book rivalling this master novel. The Matarese circle by Ludlum again, and Ninja by Lustbader come a close second.

My favourite romantic comedy till now:

"Leave it to Psmith - P.G.Wodehouse". Riproaringly funny, and filled with a lot of twists and turns (both romantic and otherwise!), this book kept me awake throughout night and day..

My favourite non-fiction book(s) till now:

1. "Remade in America - Jim Rohwer". This book traces the events leading to Asia's 1990's boom and subsequent slowdown. He opines that Asia will rise again from its ashes.
2. "Rethinking the future - Ed. Rowan Gibson". A collection of thoughts from noted economists like Hamel, Porter, Prahalad. A very very interesting read, both from a personal and business standpoint.
