About PrairieDawn
My first exposure to Devons was in the winter of 2000 when my daughter selected an old book on rex cats from our local library. Being the proud owner of a very fluffy pet at the time, I was not immediately impressed by the appearance of the Devon. Reading about them in the book and then learning more on the Planet Devon web site had me hooked! I fell in love at first sight with a photo of Dillitante's Shellgame of Loganderry. I had a good eye for "top show" Devons!

The search for a Devon of my own ended in the summer of 2000 when Capilano's Ripley came from Cheryl Dunsmore in Vancouver to our home in Southern Alberta. The very next weekend Ripley went to his first show.
My experience showing Ripley to become a Quadrupal Grand Champion Alter, all the while chatting with his breeder and learning all I could about the fancy, feline health, breeding and showing, was exactly the start I needed. I call Ripley my "training wheels".

One year later I fell in love with a photo of a 3-week-old Algonquin kitty and begged her breeder, Marie Hollingsworth, to send her to me. The summer after that, Sherise Rouch of Kabuki Amuro in Calgary provided stud services and the rest is PrairieDawn history. I was a breeder!

I am thankful to my skilled and patient mentors, and friends within the fancy who support my values of making health, conformation,  temperament and socialization a priority. I am committed to showing my Devons, ensuring my breeding cats follow TICA's standards of perfection.

Outside of my life with Devons
, I am a mother and wife. I also manage a college career centre.

I am proud to uphold high ethics
with Devons and in my profession as a career practicioner. I welcome you to contact the breeders that I have worked with for references. You may  also ask to speak with PrairieDawn pet owners or my veterinarian.

Your questions about me or my cats are always welcomed
.I pride myself on open communications with Devon lovers... and the "Devon curious".
