| Gathering of the Guilds | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| One of the goals of our guild is: 'To provide an outlet of friendship through a quilting group, promoting the social aspect of people gathering together to accomplish something beautiful and worthwhile.' In order to accomplish this goal we host a gathering and invite the quilt guilds and quilters in the surrounding area. This year we held our gathering in the hall at St. Andrew's Church on April 17, 2008. It was a successful evening in which we had about 200 quilters' show up to take part in meeting new and old friends. Throughout the course of the evening they took part in the penny parade, voted for viewers choice on our challenge the ORIENTAL TRADITIONS, took part in 'Show and Share' and enjoyed coffee and goodies. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Our guild has donated quilts for many years to the Union Hospital to auction off at their Festival of Trees annual fundraising event. 'Grandma's Old Lace'' is the quilt our guild did for the 2008 Union Hospital Festival of Trees Gala Fundraiser. Grandma's Old Lace was queen sized, machine pieced and hand quilted. It was auctioned off at the fundraising gala in November 2008 and raised $5000 for the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. |
