Designers are also piling on the accessories for fall. When once the upper class ladies wore all their riches around their necks, fall runways can be considered a déjà vu. Gold is great once again and I just can't say that enough. A proper lady shouldn't leave the house without a scarf and her french beret as well. Stockings are a must, and this season, from the Chanel and Fendi logo prints to the Dolce & Gabbana glitter covered ones or Helmut Lang's tinted tights, there is something for everyone. No more excuses to wear socks. And the ladylike hair is everywhere. Soft smooth waves in dull blonde and brown are easily attainable. We give the whole report on how to look like a lady in this issue.
But most importantly, Brigitte Bardot is back. We see her influence most in beauty. Her dark smoky eyes stare back at us from the catwalks and her frosty pink lips shine everywhere. Designers are after the sixties sex kitten many miss and her subtle waves and lacy outfits.
This goes to show that fashion is a cycle. A renewable cycle. What goes around comes around? Maybe. Fact is, as beautiful as the lady may be, we're begging for something new. And waiting for the designer who will be bold enough- and bright enough- to give it to us.
