PRISTINE RED®

Pristine Red® is a one piece band based in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, all fronted by one 'Spider' John Shin established in 1984, Spider started to have tunes in his head since he was 3, and he wrote his first song when he was eight in 1981. Influenced by a myriad of groups like The Beatles, The Who, New Order, Joy Division, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, R.E.M., Weezer, and others, it all emcompasses a reoccuring theme- the essence of the relationships of men and women, virginity and devirginizing - 'hence' pristine red --- devirginizing-- a rebirth and onward into the bowels of life. Also, the music emphasizes rejection, isolation, alienation, fighting oppression, dominance, life, and a life for God. The origin of the name Pristine Red came from Jason Taylor who formed the phrase out of alphabetic magnetic letters. The devirginizing theme was adopted because it is a weird pun. Pristine Red literally means red at its most raw state. Also, 'Pristine Red' is a triple meaning. The fact that Jesus Christ bled on the cross is 'pristine red' since he is God incarnate in human form and is perfect and pure. Pristine Red is purity, the blood he hath shed for all sinners throughout the world that believe he is the only way to God. Any other meaning of pristine red such as any lascivious meaning is totally false.

Range of styles include 90's alternative, grunge, 80's new wave, powerpop, punk, indie, classic rock, psychedelia, funk, jazz, hip-hop, gospel, classical, industrial, swing, and metal.
