THE WORLD TODAY - A few words for you by An Fear Siuil.
If the world seems confusing to your young eyes, that's because it is.
If you meet adults who say, "ah sure everything is grand", they are wrong and most likely they are ignorant.
It must be so hard being a young person today.(ok so there is no one bombing you or you're not starving….)
The natural world has it's own pace. The planet Earth turns on its axis, making day and night; the planet Earth follows a year-long path around the Sun, making the seasons. Birth, growth, maturity and death is the endless cycle of the pace of life.
Human Beings, a product of that natural world, have separated themselves from it. Into cars, into offices, into steady temperature homes, into TV worlds of advertising and fashion, into cities and towns.
We humans cut ourselves off from the natural world that has produced us and carried us for billions of years.
We surround ourselves with REALITIES of our own making: cars, offices, steady temperature homes, TV worlds of advertising and fashion, cities and towns. We become fooled by these, our own imaginings.
But these are not REALITY. These are merely HUMAN-CREATED REALITY.
And Humanity is the most destructive species on this planet. So we need to get back into feeling the rhythms of Nature, in order to SEE OUTSIDE THE BOX, OUR SELF-CREATED BOX.
A HISTORY OF HUMANITY IN 183 WORDS
Billions and billions of years
Matter is formed
Stars are formed
Galaxies are formed
Our solar system comes about, on the outer fringes of this galaxy called: The Milky Way.
Planet Earth.
WHATEVER THE REASON(God, aliens or other) animate life begins to form on planet Earth.
Out of all that bacteria, come the humanoids, who live in caves and hunt for a long, long, long time.
Then one day, the humans discover AGRICULTURE. "oh, so we don't have to hunt all day long for animals and wild food. We can plant our own food here, harvest it, store it and take it easy for the rest of the year.
So the HUMANS now had time to invent writing, numbers, law, cities, religions, technology, literature, art….etc…etc
But also because of increased food supply, the population of humans began to explode…right up to present times….when the Human POPULATION is growing faster and faster everyday
Nuclear Bombs, Space-ships, mobile phones, Genetics
There are presently 6.3 billion Humans on this planet.
50 years ago there was about 3 billion.
Conservative science estimates that over half of all plant and animal life will be extinct in 50 years.
ALL because of human activity(meaning human ignorance and destructiveness)
So LETS STOP PATTING OURSELVES ON THE BACK ABOUT HOW GREAT WE ARE and lets start looking at the genocide that we are performing on the rest of the planet. We are damaging the space-ship which is carrying us around the sun.
The Humans NEED TO EVOLVE
WE NEED TO ELEVATE OUR MINDS TO A HIGHER LEVER
We all know that we don't need oil anymore. Use the sun, plants etc.
We all know that your WAR ON TERROR is a phoney distraction from your corrupt backward politics.
We all know that Shannon Airport is now a U.S. Military Base.
We all know that it is the MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX that runs the U.S.
We all know that the climate is changing.
We all know that Organised Religions are the source of much of the world's problems and that they are nearly all OUT-OF-DATE.
We know that TV and Advertising are used to control our minds.
We all know that HUMANS need a NEW SPIRITUALITY, for a new understanding of what life is about, to give it a sense of value and something to live for.
We all know that REAL CHANGE starts with you and I, each of us, in our own lives, in our own minds, here and now. NOW. NOW. NOW. NOW.
In how we treat eachother everyday,
In what we decide to do with our lives
In the work we do
In our attitude to life
In the type of houses we build
In what we spend our money on.
Ladies and Gentlemen, HUMANITY is entered into an era of IMMENSE CHANGE.
There will be immense changes, but also immense opportunities.
Let us make haste slowly, taking our time, to find out what is right for us and the world AND TO LIVE AND LOVE ACCORDING TO OUR CONSCIENCE. Be that as an engineer, as a scientist, as a computer programmer, as a musician, as a writer, as a farmer, as a welder etc etc.
