26/08/05 Blast Gig, First gig with Ailín!
Yo! Purgatory will play Blast on Sunday the 28th of August (which is in two days! Sorry for the late notice) along with acts such as Mundicide, Sirocco, Serum and a few others. Blast  starts at  2:00pm. We are the second band on. Can't fucking wait! This will be our very first performance with Ailín. We'll also be giving out 30 copies of a little EP of ours to the crowd.... for FREE! This EP will contain a good few Purgatory songs with Ailín's newly recorded vocals on them! Enjoy the treat!

06/08/05 Enter Ailín
We would like to introduce to you our newest member of the band, Ms. Ailín Kennedy from Ballincollig Co. Cork !

Ailín is 17 and has been singing on stage since the age of four. She comes from a big musical background. We really like her as a singer because she has a great ear for it. Her taste of music ranges from anything from System of a down, to Rage against the machine, to even Slayer and so on... She has a very open and broad mind for music and this is great. Her personality is wonderful, an amazing character on stage. She's full of life. And she digs the music.

We met her through a music summerschool in Cork called 'Fuse'. Enda and Frank were put into a band with her on vocals and we immediately saw her talent. She's always wanted to be in a rock band. She heard one of our demos and loved it. She was complimenting us a lot for the music. So we decided to give it a try and ask her would she like to join the band... and she did. Go Ailín!

26/08/05 Denis
Ok, I'm sure most of you know what has happened within the last month. I just want to say that NOBODY IS PERFECT. People are different, and that's a good thing. There is no problem with three members of a four piece deciding to get a new singer, if that's what they decide is best. On behalf of Frank, Enda & Stephen, we wish him the very best in his musical journey through life. We are still his friends. We respect him and commended his contribution and dedication to the band. Denis is a unique person with an amazing sense of creativity (not to mention a magnificent poet too). He will certainly remain a significant part of Purgatory. We wish him good luck with his new musical project 'Rintrah'. Farewell.

08/06/05 New stuff added to the site!
Check out the new videos that have been submitted to the site. For all the people who know and don't know Purgatory, I recommend downloading this video 'Introducing Purgatory'. It's worth the download and it gives a nice brief low down on all the members of the band. The 'Extras' section has become available also so go check that out. I know ye're all waiting for the biographies in the 'Band' section but I promise you I'll get that up soon. I just want to get all the relevant details of the members of the band in order to give you a good biography. Oh yeah, and we're playing an edited version of 'One Last Caress' for the County Sound Roadcaster on Friday. K so enjoy.

06/06/05 Purgatory to perform for County Sound Roadcaster
Hey. Sorry for the lack of updates but you haven't really missed much. Nothing special occurred for the last three months but we're on our Summer Holidays now, school is finished and we'll have a nice handful of gigs to be played for the next three months so you can expect a lot of activity in the Purgatory department. But anyway, the County Sound Roadcaster is coming to Charleville on Friday the 10th of June and we've been asked to open their show which is a live broadcast on 103fm. Sweet eh? We've got four minutes on the air and the song we will play is undecided but we'll definately let ya know what the chosen one will be before hand. Promise.

24/03/05 3 Songs to be re-recorded
Yo. We're on our Easter Holidays now. It's great cuz we've more time on our hands for recording. The three songs 'Hope', 'What Could Have Been' and 'Farewell' from 'Red Mist' will be re-recorded and should be fully complete by the end of the break. They'll be available for download by then so be patient.

20/03/05 Gig in April
Sup! Nothing much goin' on in the Purgatory department these days. A charity gig in Skibbereen on the 23rd of April has been confirmed. Its on in the West Cork Hotel. It starts at 9pm. Twill be quite a journey for us to get down there. This will be the farthest distance we've ever travelled for a gig. Should be good!
