Notice: because Geocities is raising the rent, my cartoons are now at my new blog. These are my favorite cartoons from the Bush administration. Not Dubya. The other guy.

Press-On Pecs

George Bush pere came into the presidency hampered by what the press called "The Wimp Factor." (As the 1988 election proved, better a wimp than a wonk.) With the fall of communism in 1989, Bush the Elder was free to solve this problem by invading weaker countries such as Panama and Iraq.

Double Dip

As long as his wars were quick and low on casualties, beating Noriega and Saddam seemed to be a winning formula, and Bush I went into 1992 seemingly unbeatable. Unfortunately, his reelection campaign was plagued by when the promised recovery from recession almost died aborning (prompting talk of a "double dip recession") and the realization that Saddam Hussein was not staying beaten.
