Frontier Fieldhouse
Chicago Ridge, Illinois
Report By: Roy Walters
[This crowd here is hyped up tonight, when something hypes them even more. It's Crystal Planet by Joe Santriani, and you know what that means! John Iley is on his way. The first PWG Heavyweight Champion himself walks out, dressed in his wrestling attire with the PWG Title around
his waist. The crowd is almost blowing the roof off this place as John, smiling broadly walks to the ring, slapping hands and pointing to people in the crowd. He get to the ring and climbs up onto the apron, then pulls back on the top rope and hops over into the ring. He goes to a corner and climbs up on the second turnbuckle, removes the title from around his waist and raises it up over his head for the crowd to the see. The crowd roars their approval and a few camera flashes go off. John does the same at all four corner then requests a mic and stands in the middle of the ring. He waits for the music (which can barely be heard anyway) and the fans to quieten down before he begins.]
John: "Whey, what a welcome!"
[The crowd cheers]
John: "I wanted to come out here because theres a couple of things I want to say and I think it's best I come out here and say them. Last month at Rise of a Champion, the moment the ref's hand slapped the mat for the third time... [He shakes his head] I just can't explain how I felt. The emotion that went through me was intense. I was exhausted in that match, but the moment I was awarded this very belt [He pats the PWG Title over his shoulder] I suddenly had a rush of energy, I felt alive again and I can't believe I'm standing here now, as the champion of PWG."
[The crowd cheers again and even applaude him]
John: "But now down to business for me and I want to start by saying I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving last week! [Cheering and
whistling from the crowd seem to say "Yes"] And even though I'm from England and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I'm actually thankful for a few things, which I'd like to share with all of you! First off, I'm thankful, for a young lady backstage called Leigh Dominguez! [A few wolf whistles can be heard from the crowd as John smiles] I'm thankful for being the PWG Champion! [Yet more cheers] And most importantly, I'm thankful for the support you fans give me at each show! [The crowd roars its approval and start an "Iley, Iley" chant to which John starts to laugh and waves the crowd down] A'reet calm doon yee's lot, or I'll really lay on the geordie accent and you won't understand a single word!
But there is something else I'm thankful for, and thats the three men I faced last month on my way to winning this title. Bobby Skylark, Jon Collins and Josh Frampton. Now I wish Bobby a quick and good recovery, I'd love to give him a rematch somewhere down the line! [Crowd pops and John's face becomes serious as well as his voice] Collins? Well, let's say there was no love lost between us in that match, but I proved to him that I'm no longer the 'rookie' I used to be! And as for Frampton? Well, where do I begin?
He claims, I rode Collins' coat tails and never did anything on my own. Well let me ask you this Josh? Didn't you boast the fact that you were a student of Jon Collins? And wanted to bring him here to PWG to get at Masters? It seems to me that if anyone is riding Jon's coat tails, it's you! I came here, because it reminded me of home. Wrestling in front of crowds even smaller than this. To me, the PWG is what wrestling is all about. I've never had the need or the desire to bring in my teachers to wherever I'm wrestling, I've never had to prove myself to my teachers in that respect. I've worked long and hard to get here, and I've been in this business long enough Josh to know what I'm talking about! I know what respect is all about. Being the 'military child' that you are, you too should know what respect is. But instead, you act like a spoilt kid and whine that you were beaten by a man your teacher no
longer has respect for!
What if it were Collins who won the final eh Josh? What if your teacher had beaten you? You would have been all nice and polite saying "Oh well, my teacher beat me, it just proves I have more to learn". Well that's just absolute twaddle to me Josh! Live it with kidda, I won, you lost, end of chapter! Because tonight, this is a new page in the book of PWG. You've got a chance to face me fresh, I'm primied and ready for you Josh. No other matches, just a plain and simple one on one match. Leave your attitude behind the curtain, just bring yourself and your respect with you, and if you lose, don't go crying to Collins, suck it up and live with it. These fans have come here to see wrestling, and you and I are two of the best this fed has to offer, the PWG is all about wrestling tradition, something very close to my heart and it better be with you too bonnie lad. Because if I lose this belt tonight, I won't be doing so without a fight and if I'm sucessful against you again, I think I'll have proven my worthy and you better learn to respect that before you go whinging on saying that you deserve better! I'll see you later tonight!"
[Crystal Planet blasts out as Iley throws the mic down and gives a four corner salute to the crowd who are cheering him. Iley's got himself pumped up for the match and after he salutes the crowd he leaves and returns backstage, slapping the hands of the fans.]
Mark Sherrick -vs- Brandon Williams
We're starting things off with what could be a four star classic between Mark Sherrick and Brandon Williams. Two serious entrances for these men, focused on taking this one in a big way. These were the two men in the Battle Royal at last month's afternoon showcase card; now they get to go one-on-one in a standard match. A hand shake in the center and the bell sounds to get this one started!
Lock it up in the center and Sherrick quick to snap on a headlock. Williams reaches for an escape, but Sherrick has him locked in pretty tightly. He grinds down on the hold a bit and Williams drops to a knee for a second. He pops back up to his feet and backs into the ropes. He shoves Sherrick off - no, Mark hangs onto the hold! No dice for Williams on that one. Sherrick grinds the hold down again and now quickly spins around into a full nelson. Williams is again looking for an escape, but this hold isn't an easy one to sneak out of. Sherrick pushes down on the neck of Williams with his grip locked tightly. Maybe if Sherrick didn't get those fingers locked, Williams could have an easier escape, but once this move it's locked it's like a vice grip. Sherrick shakes Williams back and forth while the referee checks in, asking Brandon if he wants to give it up. A definitive "NO" from Williams, who is trying to power out of the hold! He's trying to pull his arms down, attempting to break the grip of Sherrick. Sherrick has the hold locked and he's trying to counteract Williams' attempts... but he's doing it! The fingers are slipping behind Williams' neck! Sherrick is losing his grip! Williams shoots his hips backwards, driving himself into Sherrick's stomach. The hold is broken!
Williams charges the ropes and comes running back - oh, sleeper hold from Sherrick! Another wear-down submission - no, back suplex from Williams! He dumps Sherrick down hard! Williams gets back to his feet, shaking the effects of that full nelson away. He pulls Mark up and connects with a forearm shot to the face. Whip to the far side, but Sherrick reverses it. He puts his head down and Brandon leapfrogs over him, running through to the ropes behind him. He rebounds as Sherrick stands and turns around - flying forearm from Williams! He kips up from the mat as Sherrick rolls to his feet as well. Mark charges at him but gets met with a boot to the stomach for his efforts. Williams backs into the ropes and comes running back.. flipping side neckbreaker on Sherrick! Williams covers but only gets a two count.
He pulls Sherrick back up and backs him into the corner. He lifts him up, sitting him on the top rope. An aerial attack coming up? Williams is climbing the ropes now, setting up for something from the top! No! Sherrick nails him in the chest with a forearm. Now once in the stomach. European uppercut and Williams flies off of the second rope! He hits the canvas hard, and now Sherrick is... climbing to the top?! Unfamiliar territory as Williams gets up inside. Sherrick leaps! Cross body block! NO! Williams rolls it through and covers! One! Two! NO!! Sherrick kicks out!
Williams is kicked off with authority and Sherrick is up before his opponent. He pulls Brandon up - oh! Knee strike to the chest! Williams tries to reel back in pain but Sherrick grabs him by the hair, pulls him in - overhead belly to belly suplex! Williams gets flipped halfway across the ring as Sherrick gets to his feet once again. He moves over to Williams but this time he grabs his left leg. He places the foot on the bottom rope; steps on the foot, bounces into the air... spins and - WHAM! Elbow drop to the leg! Williams screams in pain but Sherrick gets up quickly... and does it again! Another big elbow to the leg and it's obvious what Sherrick is doing here. A two-pronged method; first, set up for the Hunter Breaker while at the same time taking Williams' high-flying abilities out of the picture.
Sherrick grabs the leg now and drags Williams into the center of the ring. Brandon is sitting up, reaching for his knee - Sherrick kicks him in the chest! He hits the canvas hard and now Mark hits the ropes. He comes back; leaps into the air... kneedrop to Williams' leg! Williams sits up in pain again but Sherrick shoves him back down. He plants his shin on the knee of Williams - oh, God! He's pulling Williams' foot up, just trying to snap that knee! Williams shoots up in absolute agony and nails Sherrick with a forearm or perhaps an elbow right behind the ear. Sherrick falls forward, crawling over Williams to get out of dodge. He's getting up kind of slow; that shot must have been a brutal one!
Williams is wobbling to his feet as well. Sherrick is up and comes towards Williams who - yes, now he's up! And Sherrick gets nailed with a forearm blast! He takes a couple steps back, shaking it off, then comes back with a roundhouse swing! Williams ducks it and Sherrick spins around. Brandon grabs Sherrick's legs from behind. Sherrick eats canvas and now he's getting hooked up for something. Williams has Sherrick's legs around his waists and lifts - wheelbarrow suplex!! Sherrick gets planted on the back of his head and Williams limps back to his feet. He pulls Sherrick up and shoves him into the ropes. Palm strike to the jaw! Sherrick lets some spit fly from that shot, trying to walk it off. Williams grabs him, though, and whips him to the far side. Williams bounces off of the near ropes and leaps at Sherrick - OH! He went for a cross body block or maybe another forearm, but Sherrick thought quick - he nailed Williams in mid-air with a dropkick! Williams spins down to the mat, hitting hard.
Sherrick gets up quick and moves towards Williams. He pulls him up and he's going for a back suplex? No, he's positioning that left leg... he lifts him up - bam! Drops his leg down once again over his own knee! Williams hits the mat but Sherrick keeps the hold locked - figure four leg lock! He spins it... Williams kicks it off! Sherrick hits the ropes and Williams kips up. Oh, that was a mistake! He lands on his feet and clutches at that knee! Sherrick comes in and grabs the legs - kneestrike from Williams! Sherrick stumbles back and Williams hits the ropes... no! He turned to run and stopped dead! That knee is hurt! Sherrick comes forward - spinning forearm blast rockets Williams back into the ropes! He comes flying back and Sherrick boots him in the ribs. He bends over to grab that leg again - Hunter Breaker coming up? No! Williams kneestrikes him again! Wait, he hooks the arms... THE INFERNO!! He just planted Sherrick face-first! He rolls over for the cover - one! Two! Three! Williams gets the win!
Winner: Brandon Williams
Post match, Aimee ran in to help Brandon to his feet. That knee may be in some bad shape. The duo waited for Sherrick to get up then shook his hand gracefully. Sherrick left, disappointed, and Williams and Harper left soon after with assistance from the referee.
"The Prodigy" Alex Hudson -vs- Jonathan Collins
These two guys must have had something mixed up before hand. On his way to the ring, Collins seemed a little more laid back than usual. Not just laid back, though, a little cocky. Hudson, on the other hand, was all business, not taking any shots at the crowd or anything! He's looking to pick up a big win here, if he can get past Jonathan Collins. A hand shake, and a grin on Collins' face, and we're ready to go!
They lock it up in the center and Collins with a quick go-behind... then slaps Hudson on the back of the head! Collins backs up with a skip in his step, grinning at Hudson who turns around infuriated. Hudson shakes it off and calls Collins on, who obliges. They lock it up again... back-legsweep from Collins and Hudson lands on his back - Collins steps on Hudson's chest and walks right over him! He turns around, again with a cocky grin on his face, eyeing Hudson. Alex gets up again and he's not very happy. Hudson pounds the mat and calls Collins on. He comes in to lock up - OH! Hudson just nailed him in the face with a forearm! Another! A third - grabs the arm... crossface!! He's got Collins locked in a crossface submission! Collins immediately begins to struggle and reaches the ropes quickly. Hudson is keeping the hold on - there we go, he breaks it at four and gets to his feet.
He lays a boot in on the back of Collins before lifting him back up. European uppercut and Collins falls against the ropes. Whip to the ropes from Hudson; Collins comes back and feels a drop-toehold from Hudson, who rolls over and into an STF submission! Lightning-speed to lock in that hold and Collins is again in trouble! He's having a harder time reaching the ropes this time, but he's slowly inching his way over. Hudson knows he's going to have to break it soon, so he's putting on as much pressure as possible! Collins is crawling over... there it is, he's got the ropes! Hudson releases again at the four count, getting back to his feet.
This guy is all business tonight, folks. He's just trying to stretch Collins out. Hudson pulls him up again and twists him into an armbar. High-wristlock from Hudson, now he steps on the back of Collins' knee to gain more leverage. He puts the pressure on and Collins reaches out, trying to get to the ropes. Hudson has his foot planted on the back of Collins' knee, though, making it hard for him to move. Collins reaches up and grabs Hudson by the head - Hudson shakes his head and Collins loses his grip. Collins tries to move towards the ropes again, but still, that foot on the back of the leg is immobilizing. Collins plants his free foot on the mat, trying to stand back up. He's using it to stand up completely! That second leg is coming off of the mat, Hudson's foot still on the back of the leg. Collins straightens it out, planting his second food on the mat. Backflip! Collins backflips and now he turns the armbar back onto Hudson! Into a hammerlock - half nelson... suplex!! He just dumped Hudson on the back of his head!
Collins gets back to his feet, shaking out that left arm - the focus of two submission holds thus far from Hudson. He pulls Alex up and nails him with a forearm shiver to the face. Another one and now Jon runs to the ropes - Hudson with a hair-pull! He pulls Collins' hair and pulls him onto the mat! The referee is quick to get in Hudson's face but he brushes him away. Hudson moves to Collins, reaching down to pick him up - palm strike from Collins on the mat! Hudson stumbles back... Collins kips up and Hudson comes toward him - PELE! Collins nails a Pele, that fabulous backflip-kick, catching Hudson right in the face! Hudson collapses to the mat and Collins is up, charging the ropes. He leaps to the top and looks down at Hudson... Anaheim Jam! A big, top-rope legdrop from Collins crushes Hudson! He neglects a cover, electing to take it to Hudson some more.
He yanks him up and nails him with the top of his forearm right along the side of the head. Hudson stumbles off, clutching at his skull. Collins is right behind him, though, and whips him into the far corner. Hudson hits hard and stumbles out. Collins charges - charging hurricanrana?? No, Hudson ducks it and Collins lands on the second rope! Hudson stand back up - Collins jumps backwards... hurricanrana!! Amazing! This crowd explodes with applause as Collins pops back to his feet, spreading his arms out and soaking in the admiration.
He turns back to Hudson, pulling him up once again. Kick to the stomach, then a forearm shot. Collins backs into the ropes and comes back - discuss clothesline! NO! Hudson grabs the arm again, he's trying for a second crossface! Collins grabs his wrist with his other hand, pulling away from Hudson, who remains persistent. Hudson with a back-kick to Collins' knee! Collins clutches at it - crossface! Submission hold locked in again, but once again, Collins is able to get to the ropes right away. Hudson lets go quicker and pulls Collins up. Whip to the far side but Hudson is right behind... knee to the stomach in the ropes. Collins doubles over in agony and Hudson grabs him - running bulldog! Collins eats the canvas and Hudson rolls him onto his back. He charges at the ropes - SUPER STARDOM!! Asai Moonsault - no, Collins is up and rolls towards the ropes! Hudson lands on his feet and Collins leaps onto the second rope... BULLET TIME!! He leaps back with an Asai DDT and catches Hudson - WHAM! And lands it inverted-style! He covers - one! Two! No!! Hudson gets a shoulder up.
Collins pounds the mat, then lifts Hudson back to his feet. Short European uppercut, and then Hudson returns with an eye gouge. The ref is in his face again, but Hudson reaches for Collins. Whip to the far side and Collins returns... ducks under a clothesline. He charges through to the ropes and Hudson spins around. Collins leaps at him - flying hurricanrana!! And Hudson gets spun right out to the arena floor! A beautiful move as Collins pops up to his feet, and it looks like he's got his eyes on Hudson outside. He's getting up to his feet and Collins hits the ropes... charges at Hudson - SOMERSAULT PLAAAAAANCHA!! Collins decimates Hudson! Both men crumble to the floor, clutching various body parts. Both are also being encouraged by their female counterparts. Collins is up first and grabs Hudson by the hair, pulling him to his feet... whip into the steel railing! Hudson hits hard back-first and Collins charges in - OHH!! Hudson picks him up and nails a Hot Shot on the railing! Collins clutches at his chest and throat while Hudson sits on the floor, trying to get himself back in this one. He shakes the effects of that hurricanrana and plancha off, then moves towards Collins. He spins him around - forearm to the face. Collins returns the favor! Now two rapid-fire shots from Hudson. Collins returns that as well! Hudson grabs Collins arm and whips him towards the railing... reversal! Hudson stops himself short and Collins charges at him - HIPTOSS!! Into the crowd! Collins hits the floor and Hudson leaps over the railing. Collins struggles to get to his feet - forearm blast from Hudson! Collins retaliates again! Hudson! *DING DING DING* Wait.. what?! These two are still fighting... it's a double countout?! These two don't care! Collins gets whipped into a row of chairs!
Winner: Double Countout
After that whip into the chairs, Collins was up quick and charged at Hudson. He tackled him to the ground, and the two rolled around trading shots in the crowd. PWG referees and agents poured from the back, separating these two from possibly killing each other! A double countout here between Collins and Hudson, but I'm not so sure this thing is over.
PWG Tag Team Title Match
Scramble Relay Elimination
Too Hood -vs- The Vipers -vs- Iconoclasm -vs- The Sainthood -vs- Rebellious Youth
Five tag teams all striving for one goal. Last month at Rise of a Champion, John Iley became the first PWG Heavyweight Champion. That same night, though, the tag teams of PWG rallied together in protest that they were stuck on the afternoon showcase-card, and not being given the same chances as the singles wrestlers. Well, they were heard loud and clear and tonight one team will walk out of Chicago Ridge with the PWG Tag Team Titles! The teams are ready and it looks like Chris Jameson of Iconoclasm and Julian Cross of The Sainthood will be starting things off.
A rather uneven pairing here, as Cross has a clear advantage with height and weight. Jameson doesn't seem to care, though. A shake of the hands, and here we go! They circle around the center and lock it up... Cross immediately shoves Jameson to the mat! He rolls through and charges right back - another lockup, but Cross shoves him down again. Jameson rolls through and charges again - oh! Dropkick to the knee! Cross hits stomach-first and now Jameson hits the ropes. Blind tag from his partner, Jason McNeill. Jameson lands a leaping legdrop to the neck of Cross. McNeill springs up to the top rope! Jameson rolls away - 450 splash from McNeill! These kids came to fight hard and McNeill is already pulling out big moves!
He's pulling Cross to his feet but having some trouble due to the size difference. Cross is at a knee and McNeill runs to the ropes. He charges back - shining wizard! Cross flies onto his back and McNeill charges into the corner... he springs to the top rope right from the mat! Moonsault to Cross! He lands hard on Cross and covers! One! Two! Three?! They're outta here!
The Sainthood have been eliminated
Wait - Jeff Kewell just came in and tossed McNeill over the top rope! He hits the floor hard and now he leaps to the second rope... he's jawing down at McNeill on the floor. He better look out, though... Bane comes in and charges - big boot to Harry, sends him flying to the arena floor! He grabs Jeff by the throat... he looks around the arena and lifts him - WHAM!! The Bane of Humanity, from the second rope! Bane slams his hand onto the chest of Kewell for a cover - one... two... three! Rebellious Youth are gone!
Rebellious Youth have been eliminated
Two lightning-fast eliminations without a chance for the Scramble Relay rules to even take place yet! The partners of those eliminated didn't even get a chance to fight!
Bane is up and waiting for an opponent... and here comes the cocky Mac Diaz! He pauses to whisper something to Lena D at ringside who, for whatever reason, is taking notes on a clipboard. Mac strolls into the center - I swear, he thinks he's ten feet tall if he's an inch! OH! He just shoved Bane! Bane barely moves but he grabs Diaz by the head... throws him into the corner! He charges in - Diaz slips out between the ropes and Bane hits the corner chest-first. Diaz jumps onto the second rope from the outside and leaps toward Bane - somersault neckbreaker! Diaz is quickly up as Bane clutches his neck. He runs to the ropes and comes charging back - hiiiiiiiigh leaping knee drop! Bane catches a knee to the face and now Diaz is up again. He sits Bane up and stomps him on the shoulder. Another one and now Bane turns away, grabbing at the ropes to help him to his feet. Diaz charges the far ropes again, but now Bane gets up! He runs at the rebounding Diaz - Mac slides underneath his legs and pops to his feet. He shoves Bane from behind and he stumbles forward. Diaz turns and runs to the ropes... leap to the second rope - twisting cross body block! He hits Bane in the back, and he flies into the ropes! Diaz gets up and runs towards Bane - 619, and he catches him right in the stomach! Bane flies backwards and now Diaz reenters the ring. He leaps up to the second rope and pauses, waiting for his opportunity. He leaps at Bane... he gets caught! Bane has Diaz caught in a bear hug, and this could spell trouble for Too Hood! Lena continues to take notes at ringside, while Lauderdale is yelling words of encouragement to his partner. Bane is tossing Diaz around like a rag doll here... serious trouble for arguably the cockiest duo in PWG! Diaz is trying to find a way out of it... wait - he bit him! He just bit Bane's face! Not even the forehead or the nose, he just bit his cheek! Bane drops him down to his feet and clutches at his face. Forearm blast to the damaged cheek! Another one! A third and now Diaz shoves Bane again! Bane swings wildly and Diaz ducks it. Bane swings around... standing dropkick from Diaz! Bane hits the ropes and Diaz gets back up. He charges at Bane in the ropes - enziguiri kick! Bane hits the canvas! Diaz charges into the ropes now - BZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Wait - there's the timer! Diaz stops dead in his tracks and turns around - forearm blast from Chris Jameson! He grabs ahold of Diaz now and... throws him over the top rope! Jameson and Bane will square off now!
Bane is getting up as Jameson advances towards him. He connects with an elbow to the top of the head, keeping the big man slow. Forearm blast to the side of the head now, wobbling Bane on his knees. Bane continues to fight through it, though, getting up to his feet. Jameson chops him across the chest! Another! Three - but those chops just seem to anger Bane! He grabs Jameson by the face... headbutt! He shoves Jameson into The Vipers' corner, then tags in his partner, Justin Payne. Payne enters and grabs Jameson, connecting with a kneelift to the face. Jameson stumbles away, bringing a hand up to his face. Payne advances, though, turning him around with a hair pull. Admonishment from the ref, but Payne brushes it off. He whips Jameson to the ropes and charges at him. Jameson pops off - clothesline almost immediately after coming off of the ropes! Elbow drop from Payne, and now Jameson sits up, clutching his chest.
Payne moves to his feet behind Jameson... drives a knee into the base of his neck! Jameson immediately rolls to the corner and Jason McNeill tags in. He leaps over the top rope and Payne charges - McNeill dodges and Payne hits the ropes. He spins around but gets met with a forearm from McNeill. Another one, and now he's whipped to the far side. McNeill is priming himself as Payne hits and rebounds - flying leg lariat to his opponent! McNeill pops to his feet almost immediately after landing on the canvas, then pulls Payne up once again. He shoves Payne backwards and he hits the ropes. Payne bounces off and McNeill spins - rolling elbow! He just absolutely HAMMERED Payne in the face! He drops like a sack of bricks and McNeill covers - one! Two! No, there's Bane to break it up. He kicks McNeill from the apron, then gets a word or two from the referee.
McNeill is up, pulling Payne with him once again. He backs him into the corner then nails a stiff European uppercut, leaving Payne with nowhere to go but spine-first into the turnbuckles. McNeill whips him to the far corner and Payne hits hard... wait, Lauderdale blind tags! McNeill doesn't know it. He charges towards Payne - running tiger wall flip! BZZZZZZZZZ!
Lauderdale jumps into the ring... McNeill lands on his feet - WHAM!! Lauderdale takes him down with a VICIOUS double-forearm shot to the face! McNeill lands on the back of his neck and flips over to his stomach, where Lauderdale is unleashing with boot after boot to the back! Payne is getting up in the ropes... Lauderdale spins around and charges - clotheslines him over the top rope! Lauderdale turns his attention to the now legal man in the ring.
He rips McNeill to his feet and nails a hard forearm. Another one, and a third - blink and you'd miss it! Lauderdale takes McNeill by the head and spins around - OHH! Shoulder-first into the corner! Adrian quickly grabs him from behind and yanks him out of the corner... release German suplex! Lauderdale is a machine, connecting with these hard-hitting moves in speedy fashion! He's immediately up and charges the corner - he nails Jameson in the face with a forearm! Jameson jumps in - the ref holds him back! Lauderdale lifts McNeill up... powerbomb?? No, he hangs him over his shoulder - Mac leaps to the top rope! LEGDROP!! Into a Dominator! Diaz rolls out and Adrian covers as the ref turns around - only a two count, though, as McNeill gets a shoulder up.
Lauderdale pulls McNeill up, again moving quickly and harshly. Tag to Diaz who jumps in over the top. Double Irish whip to the far side. McNeill comes back and Too Hood is waiting - flapjack! Wait... they both grab McNeill and pull him up - double backdrop suplex! Lauderdale slides out of the ring as Diaz nails a stomp into the chest of Jason. He sits him up and runs to the ropes. He charges back - dropkick to the face! He snaps back, hitting the back of his head on the canvas hard. Diaz goes for a cover but here comes Jameson - he breaks it up before a one count is even laid down! He nails Diaz with a boot to the back of the head, but the referee gets up quickly to push him out of the ring.
Diaz pulls McNeill up and holds him in front of Adrian - WHAM! Open-hand slap to the face! Uh oh - look at the eyes of McNeill! That woke something inside! He breaks the armlock from Diaz and reaches up... stunner coming?? He leaps into the air... headscissors locked on Adrian! McNeill pauses in mid-air... then the bottom drops out! OHH! He nails a stunner on Diaz, and chokes Adrian on the top rope at the same time! Lauderdale flies back and onto the arena floor, while McNeill takes a chance to recover!
Diaz is down in the ring as well, clutching at his throat. McNeill is making his way towards his corner - BZZZZZZZZZZ!
Bane comes in! OHH! Vicious clothesline completely flips McNeill around, landing him on his stomach! He drags him to his feet and... hiptoss to the arena floor! Bane is in this one once again and now he pulls Diaz to his feet. Knee to the ribs and now a whip to the far side. Diaz comes back - cross body block! No! OHH!! Bane swings it into a Black Hole Slam over the knee! OH! He grabs Diaz around the throat! He's standing up and pulling Mac with him! He lifts him into the air... what?! Adrian out of nowhere just clipped Bane! The monster falls to his knees and Diaz is free from the clutch. Adrian rolls out as Diaz charges the ropes. He comes running back... OHH! Double-flying knees to the face of Bane! He flies onto the canvas and now Mac scrambles to his feet. A quick cover attempt from Diaz, but Bane kicks him out with authority. Diaz is up to his feet and is struggling to pull Bane up. Adrian is up on the apron and asks for the tag; Mac obliges. Adrian steps in now and both men lift Bane to his feet. Double boot to the ribs and now they whip him to the far corner. He hits hard and they charges in - Bane runs out for a double clothesline - they duck it! Diaz slides out of the ring but Adrian shoves Bane! He stumbles forward then spins around and charges at Adrian! Adrian holds his ground - Bane closes in... OHHH!! Adrian just powerslammed him into the corner! A tremendous spinning powerslam and Bane hits the corner hard! I don't know where he got that from, but Adrian just lifted that beast and took him DOWN!
Lauderdale gets back to his feet, favoring his back a little. Perhaps that slam took a bit out of himself as well. He's pulling Bane up, who right now is pretty much putty in Adrian's hands. Lauderdale shoves him into the corner and whips him to the far corner. Bane hits hard and stumbles out. Lauderdale charges in - clothesline rumbles the big man. Adrian backs up a few steps and charges in - another rough clothesline! Bane hits the corner again and now Lauderdale runs to the side ropes. He comes back, charging at Bane - flying forearm in the corner! Lauderdale bounces off and into the center of the ring... Bane is stumbling out towards him. Lauderdale is waiting for him for some reason - wait... WHOA! He's got him lifted for the B-Unit! BZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Waitasecond... Chris Jameson leaps to the top rope! HOLY CRAP!! FALL FROM GRACE!! He nails that Shooting Star Legdrop to the back of Bane's head, as Lauderdale drops the B-Unit! Jameson quickly grabs Adrian... and throws him out of the ring! Jameson charges at Payne and nails him off of the apron! He runs back to Bane - big splash! He hooks the leg... one! Two! THREE!! He got him!
The Vipers have been eliminated
It's down to two teams for the Tag Team Titles - Iconoclasm and Too Hood!
Lauderdale is quick to charge back in at Jameson who is just getting to his feet. Lauderdale's forearm attempt is blocked, and Jameson connects with his own. He nails another then runs to the ropes. He comes back - Lauderdale ducks his big boot attempt. Waistlock from Adrian but Jameson breaks it and runs to the ropes. He leaps to the second rope as Adrian runs behind him... Asai moonsault! Adrian runs underneath him and to the ropes, but Jameson lands on his feet. Adrian bounces off of the ropes - Jameson catches his arm in a clothesline attempt. The fans came here to see an example of pure wrestling, and I think they're going to get it in this main event. John Iley is coming off of becoming the first-ever Pro Wrestling Glory Heavyweight Champion at Rise of a Champion. He did so by defeating Joshua Frampton, who now challenges Iley for the belt. One thing stands out in this match which could make all of the difference - in tonight's match, both men are completely fresh.
Both men made their entrances with little-to-no fanfare. Each is deadset on leaving with the Heavyweight Title. A hand shake - Iley hangs on and pulls Frampton in. He's staring daggers at Joshua... and nods at the challenger before releasing. Both men back into their corners and the bell sounds, getting this one underway!

Wait, Frampton lets go and spins to his feet... elbow drop to Iley's back!
John again lets out a grunt of pain as Frampton lays in with a hard forearm to the spine. He lifts him up now, pushing him into the ropes. Iley hits awkward, favoring that lower back early on here. As I've said before, if Iley's back isn't still in bad condition from his previous injuries, he's going to wind up with a whole new batch from his recent matches in PWG! Frampton nails a forearm blast to the face, sending Iley reeling along the ropes. He grabs him by the head again, spinning him around into a fabulous European uppercut. He rips Iley to his feet... forearm to the face! Another! Another! He's got Iley's head locked with one hand and he's nailing him with the other - blood keeps flying out of Iley's mouth with every shot! He keeps going! Six! Seven! Winner and still PWG Heavyweight Champion: John Iley
After the bell sounded, Iley immediately let go of the hold and fell chest-first into the corner. He started breathing heavily, trying to get his wits about him. Leigh joined him at his side and after standing up the referee handed Iley his Heavyweight Title. Iley held the belt high much to the delight of the crowd, however, not to the delight of Frampton and Bennett. Always the professional, though, Iley allowed Frampton the time to recover and then extended his hand. Frampton was reluctant at first, but then accepted the shake before leaving the ring. Iley then celebrated his first successful defense with Leigh by his side.
