A Forgotten Love

Tink was up the entire night making phone calls in a desperate attempt to

find some sort of lead on Froggy the Bowman, but he continually came up empty-

handed.  It seemed that no one had heard of this menacing monster.  Just when

Tink was about to give up, he realized that he hadn't even thought to call his old

partner, (and love-interest), Richard Heifer.  She was a part of a crime-solving

federation in Manhattan.  Tink was sure that Richard would have some way to

help.  He checked his watch and saw that it was now already past eight o'clock

in the morning.  Tink got up from his desk, grabbed his coat, and quickly left his

office.

      Tink arrived at the Manhattan Office of Cow Detectives around nine

o'clock.  He asked the lovely secretary at the front desk if she knew where he

could find a detective named Richard Heifer.

       "I'm right here, Tink," came a voice from behind him.  Tink spun around to

find Richard.

       "Rich!" Tink ran and gave a Richard a friendly hug.

       "Tinkerbell Cow, I never expected to see you here!  How have you been?

How's the crime-fighting business in Brooklyn?"

       Tink thought a moment before answering.

       "Well, things were pretty quite for awhile, but now I'm afraid a villian has

arisen that could threaten the lives of all cows."  An expression of genuine shock

crept across Richard's face.

        Finally, Rich spoke.

       "Come on, we should go somewhere where we can talk."

                        ~~~~~~~~~~~
Tink told Rich all about Froggy the Bowman and his evil plot.  He watched
Rich's smile fade into a look of sheer horror.  Despite all of this, Tink was sure
glad to see Rich again.  He tried not to let his emotions show to much.  After all,
Rich had really hurt him all those years ago...
        Rich interrupted Tink's thoughts. "A cow massacre, huh?  That's unreal.
We're gonna have to dig hard for this character."
       Immediately snapping out of his daze, Tink replied. "Yeah Rich, but the
question is...where do we begin?"
       Richard leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and thought for awhile.
      "Let's call some Appalachian grocery stores and ask if they've noticed any
unusual or suspicious customers."
      Tink supported this idea, and they soon got down to work.
      An hour or so later, the cows took a lunch break.  They decided to go to
their classic, favorite place - Ernie's.  They automatically walked over to their old
booth, at the far corner of the bar and grill.
      "It's just like the old days, Tink,"  Rich said after a long silence.
      "Well, almost..." replied Tinkerbell with a solemn expression on his face.
       For the next couple hours, the two former crime-fighting partners (and
partners in love) brought each other up-to-date on the past few years.
                               ~~~~~~~~~~~~

        Tinkbell and Richard left Ernie's around two o'clock that afternoon.  They

both had ordered turtle cheesecake for dessert, so they were quite full.  Ernie's

was well-known for its outstanding turtle cheesecake.  They slowly headed back

to Tink's office.

          As soon as they arrived, they got back to work.  After a short while of

making phone calls, they discoved that Froggy the Bowman had been spotted

regularly at a discount grocery store, located in the town of Tatorville.  Tink and

Rich decided to take a little trip to Tatorville, talk face-to-face with some of the

townspeople, and work on tracing the whereabouts of Froggy.

         Early the next morning, Tink and Rich left for the Brooklyn train yards.

         "I have a feeling that we'll find Froggy, if we look in all the right places and

stay focused," Richard commented as they were boarding the train.

         Tinkerbell nodded.  "I hope you're right, Rich.  I hope you're right..."
