Special People

These were taken a few years ago, but neither have changed
too much, so look close, you may even recognize them.
Especially if you've from Kansas and have been to Salina lately.

Rita and Carl are both Sargent's with the Kansas Highway Patrol. They are two of the people responsible for training all Kansas Dispatchers the new computer program used by each Agency as well as other duties.

Rita is also the NCIC Instructor and NCIC Auditor for the Southwest Kansas area. She spends a lot of time at Headquarters, which is in Central Kansas, training so is on the road a lot.

Carl is the Staff Development Specialist for the Patrol, all he had to do was learn the inside-out of DATAMAX software and browser. Being the SDS, he helps the trainer/auditors with their scheduling... and gets to introduce new ideas to them as well... complicated, but fun (in Carl's own words!!). He is currently, also, Communications Supervisor (a part time job that's actually full time at present) at Patrol Headquarters. I've seen the Communications room there and it's awesome!!! Both are very dedicated to their jobs and I, for one, would like to thank them for all they do. It makes my job a lot easier. What is extra special, is they have both become good friends as well.

If You Come Across an Angel

Every day, in the world around us,
real-life angels are doing the things they do...
and bringing more smiles to the world around them.
Real-life angels build bridges instead of walls.
They don't play hide-and-seek with the truth,
they do whatever they can to help you.

And they support you in your attempts to do what is right
Real-life angels multiply your smiles
and add to you interegrity.

They make you feel like,
"Hey, I really am somebody who matters."
Then they quietly prove to you how beautiful
and true that feeling really is.

If you come across an angel like this,
you are one of the luckiest people of all.
If someone in your life
is wonderfully like an angel to you,
it's important to let them know.
It's the nicest compliment you could ever give
in all the days of your life
and in all the years that you live.
