| Welkom to my Mediaguide-site! I finished the course, to become a mediaguide, at the University for Social Educational Care in Nijmegen, the Netherlands in 2002. With mediaguide I am referring to a profession. A guide who helps children and young adults finding their way through the media - landscape. I want to expose the subjects and issues where talking about, during our course, and I need to know your point of view. So are you awake? No? Drink coffee!! |

What do you think about the following arguments: 1 We need to create an environment for children and young adults where they can work/ play with any media but still focus on the group. 2 The computer is an adult tool. And like other tools it can create a dangerous environment for children. |
| Why should there be a guide? In a communication society influenced by digital medias and net based communication, everybody has knowledge about former cultures and societies. Children will grow up in a world where almost all information is available. The children do not need the adults to pass on knowledge - they can find it themselves. However, they need the adults to help them evaluate the value and the relevance of the knowledge they seek out. next..... |
