Here's a closer look at the Bog or Marginal plants we bought. Taller ones to the back. They just sit in there pots right on the plant ledge.  Bog or Marginals like to be in shallow water. Some only need an inch of water over the top of the pot others can take up to 6 inches or so. Water lilys like deeper water, place them about 24 inches deep .
Make sure to backfill as you add rocks up the waterfall. Tamp the dirt down frimly for added strenght. Trim the remaining liner when your done . This will become a planting area for tall grasses and Daylilies.
A closer look at the waterfall itself. Here you can see what I was talking about before. The water is flowing over a large rock and falls down to a large rock that is sticking out to catch it. A third large rock spans across the top of the waterfall to conceal the water source. The void spot behind the falls creates a small echo chamber for added sound.
The pond is filled and plants are placed around and adjusted before planting. At this point I am pretty impressed with how it coming out!
