Shine
When I am not standing for all the world to see
I spend most my life asking what do you want of me
I smile
I bow
I put on the mask
I say what you want
I do all that you ask
But there`s more than this to me
I see the silhouette of the woman I could be
I rise
I shine
I dream that I am free
No longer bound in the chains
Of the captive you made of me
When I am not living under your canopy
I dream there`s more to life than this world you created for me
But I smile
I bow
Your moonlight shines
I say what you want
I just follow your lines
But there`s more than that to me
I see the silhouette of the woman I could be
I rise
I shine
I dream that I am free
No longer bound in the chains
Of the captive you made of me
You dictate my every move
My every dream, my every thought
My smile, my words, my tears
Everything I had ever want
Yet I see the silhouette of the woman that I am
I rise
I shine
I know that I am free
No longer bound in the chains
Of the captive you made of me
