Regardless of where I am or what I’m doing in my life, I will always be writing. Sometimes I feel it’s the only thing that sustains me. Of course it’s a bit frustrating when I have something really important to say and I just can’t seem to say it right.
Like right now.
Well in my bag, I usually carry a small notepad, pen, and a tape recorder. One never knows when inspiration will strike, and I like to be prepared for those rare moments. I scribble in my notebook pretty often. I’ve even been known to break out my notepad in the middle of movie theaters, squinting in the dark and jotting down a line I find clever or enlightening (this is pretty rare though with the movie selections these days). Sometimes a tune or lyric will pop into my head while I’m driving, so I’ll pull out my tape recorder and hum a melody or sing a line or two.
Creativity has no schedule, and I have to be prepared for it whenever it strikes.
Unfortunately right now, my creative juices are somewhat dry.
rewind forward
