“Krista” by Kevin So
We’re dropping off our postcards
Sent straight from the Lone Star
As we ride the roller coaster
I don’t want this ride to ever end
Cuz I’ll be traveling alone, to places never gone
People are just as kind here as in Memphis, Tennessee

I’m on a such crazy sugar high right now and can’t fall alseep. I just finished guzzling down a diet coke while sucking on a Charms lollipop. I think I alarmed the guys on the road trip to Boston with how much sugar I eat a day. I absolutely have to have something sweet after every meal. Whether it’s just a stick of gum or a peppermint, my mouth craves sweets. But I’ve been trying to fight the urge for sweets lately and actually stepped out of a candy store without buying a single thing while in Boston. Rather unbelievable, but I did. I was so proud of myself. But of course, I broke down by the end of the weekend before our trip back home.
We had lunch at Au Bon Pain and I was dying for something sweet after we were finished.
-------------
Me: I need something sweet. I need candy now. Let’s stop by a convenient store.
Dave: Well, I guess there is one around here somewhere.
Me: Oh yeah. There was a 7-11 right around the corner from where we parked.
Tae: Really? I didn’t notice it.
Me: Yup. I scoped out the place for sweets even before we had lunch. I’m always prepared. =)
(Melysa, Dave, and Tae all shake their heads.)
Dave: I think I know why you grind your teeth at night. (At this point I`m thinking, "Oh brother. Here we go with more of his theories").
[Recap: I had already explained to them that I grind my teeth occasionally throughout the night because I have bad dreams. Obviously, they didn’t buy this.]
Dave: I think your mouth is so accustomed to chewing on candy and gum while you’re awake, that you replicate the same action in your sleep.
Me: Come on now. I’m not that pathetic.
-------------
We stopped by the 7-11 on our way to the car. I bought four lollipops, a bag of Skittles (with the new apple flavor—YUM!) and a roll of Starburst. And I forced them to stop at a McDonald’s in Jersey for vanilla cones later. =)
My dentist loves me because I bring her business. I’d bring her even more if I actually went when I was supposed to instead of 1 time every 3 years like I do now. I’ll be lucky if I still have teeth left come time for my next visit.
P.S. I`m still listening to "Krista" by Kevin So. I love this song.
