Gosh. God has really blessed me with this job. It's been so ideal. Everything I could have possibly wanted--reasonable hours, GREAT benefits, two weeks vacation plus a break in between Christmas and New Year's, a good boss, great co-workers, a lax workload (which allows me to update this page during the day), independence, and a hefty paycheck to top it all off. The CEO sent out an email to the entire company officially welcoming me as a part of the team. My inbox was flooded with warm congratulations from employees I have yet to meet.
And to think earlier this week, I didn't think I was getting the job. They had interviewed another candidate with an exceptional background (someone with more experience in this position than me), and I knew HR and my boss were talking to her. I thought they were going to hire her, and you can't imagine how bummed out I was.
Thank God I was wrong.
I called my parents to let them know and my mother told me, "Dad and I said if we heard good news from you, we're going to go out and celebrate in your honor! I'm giving you a big hug right now!" And then I heard my father say in the background, "Let me talk to her."
He got on the phone and said, "Congratulations, my daughter. I'm so happy for you. Remember to keep this job, okay?"
Haha. They're both cute. My mother got back on the phone and ended the conversation saying, "Don't forget to tithe. God is the One who has given you everything you have."
Amen to that.
