I told myself I'd try to be more consistent with my writing, but well, life happens.
Last night, I walked six blocks through the blistering cold to the neighborhood gym. Getting there and coming back is always the hard part. So is watching Gramps there next to me running 70mph on the treadmill while I'm huffing and puffing just trying to keep a steady pace at 5.
Snow used to say to me tall people generally have a lot of physical problems like backaches and weak bones. I always wondered where he came up with this stuff. I think most of the time, his study was based on a very limited population sample -- i.e. me.
I miss his quirky statements, his animated tales, and the way his face used to light up like a little kid over the smallest things -- especially eating. That's one thing we certainly had in common (and if you happen to be reading this, I hope you're doing well!).

I asked my friend, JT, for some godly insight into something the other day, and I don't know what I was thinking. In all the years we've been friends, the boy has never given me a straight answer about anything. Including the time he started dating my sister and insisted on being cryptic about the whole thing. He called me one night about four years ago while I was studying for an exam, and the only words out of his mouth were, "Don't dropkick me." And that was it. I had to call my sister immediately afterwards to find out what the heck he was talking about. Speaking of which, I owe that boy a swift kick in the butt for making a move on my sister that night without my permission.
Anyhow, I digress.
So he sent me a response to my inquiry via email during the middle of the day, and I couldn't contain myself. I broke out in hysterical laughter, covering my mouth to muffle the noise, but to no avail. My co-worker looked over at me, and I swear he must have thought I belonged in an asylum.
Well, JT's insight and so-called "words of wisdom" didn't really help much -- although it provided a good laugh.
Okay, so this entry was brought to you today by our proud sponsors "Who the Freak Cares?" where senseless babble is their company motto.
[Yeah, maybe I should stick to writing when I actually have something worthwhile to say.]
Oh, speaking of worthwhile. Jean Georges. Must check it out. Went there for the first time this past Tuesday with a friend, and if we could both afford it, we would probably have lunch there every day. The food, service, setting, ambiance, interior design, dessert (especially dessert!) -- all exquisite! Oh yeah, company wasn't too shabby either. ;) Bravo for fine dining with a prix fixe menu (I really do get excited about the simplest things).
rewind forward
