I am the founder of Rafiki Caring Home. Born in Kenya on 27th July 1973. I was born in a very poor village of Western Kenya my parents are peasants, who struggle to educate a family of 8 to a sound level. I joined R.D.V.V. Jabalpur University India where I graduated in Bachelors of Commerce and Law respectively. Being brought up in a poor village and went abroad for my further studies gave me a very good chance to compare different issues in lifestyles of different societies. What I found in every negative step taken by parents-- the people who suffer are children. When there is violence between parents children, there are the most affected people, and when one or both parents die of HIV/AIDS, or other causes, children are left without any alternative and some ends up being deserted and uncared for by their own parents. Some families are not given proper advice as they lack a place and people to do so. his observation made me to think of children and that I am able to reach out and help these children to survive. So I am doing my part to be a blessing to them though I am not married, I feel comfortable when I am with children. I have a vision that many children will benefit from Rafiki Caring Home schools,as now we have many children and more are in need of our help but we have no funds to enable us to helped many. We pay all the expenses, which is very difficult to get. Mostly member's contribution is helping much we have now three Homes one in a very poor village and our other two in the outskirts of town. We wish to help many but we lack a lot as even no more rooms further as we pay rent on monthly basis. Beddings all are given by friends to give hope these children. It is a young organization but helping more. My personal contacts- markomare@yahoo.com Tel: (254) 734857977 The main objectives to start this Home is to provide these kids with: 1. Shelter 2. Food 3. Clothing 4. Education 5. Rehabilitating 6. Counseling parents to have peaceful families. And the side full photograph is the lady who is in charge of Family Affairs. HOMES 1. The first home which is located in Western part of Kenya is called Rafiki Caring Home Ibencho with 20 children and it has two rooms which we use in the day as classrooms and at night as sleeping place. Because we pay for the rooms at he end of the month and take care of them by all ways. They are taken care with the District Executive Daniel O. Nyamancha and we have two teachers and three workers taking care of the children. Where they are standing behind them that is their Home and School 2. This second Home headed by District Executive Joash O. Mbaka and is at the outskirts of a town called Nakuru. These children are taken this photograph outside their home and classrooms. Here we have two rooms we pay the rent every month and take care of these children as much as we are doing. Some are orphans, some destitute who are left by their parent as a result of family problems i.e. Poverty, Violence between parents, HIV/AIDS victims but we give them hope by bringing them to Rafiki Caring Home where they get education. In this Home we have two teachers and three taking care of children. You can see how they are being taught in one room which is not enough. 3. This third Home is headed by Martin O. Gitenya and these children looks smart as we started with this Center and now it is organized as it is in the outskirts of Nairobi City. We have two rooms and we pay rent at the end of the month. We have two teachers at present and workers who take care of them. On the same Home you can see how they are in classroom with their teacher. The many people who are working hard to see that our children are taken care of well. I thank all our friends who are making all these. May God bless you all. We have other children who are ready to join creative activities as they cannot join in Pre-Unit and Primary mostly these children are destitute who are deserted by their parents. That is why we wish to start their creative education i.e. Curving, Tailoring, Games e.t.c. so that they can be rehabilitated by our Homes. Dear friend let us all look for children as they are our future What we experience in these Homes: 1. We need more space by building the Homes 2. Getting money to pay the rent in every month 3. To get food for children. 4. Workers need an allowance for their work. 5. They need clothes and beddings 6. We need teaching and writing materials 7. We lack solar panels for night as no electricity available. 8. We lack medicine for their health. 9. Chairs and kids entertainment items. 10.Getting school uniforms is a problem. The amount we found can take care of one child to have comfortable life is US$ 50 in one month. If you would like to be a sponsor for a child, please contact me. Thank you! |
