While walking through the ruined streets of Telar, Everline expresses her concern at being out in the open where the marauding Taeline would spot them. Straxus shakes his head and says, "No, Empress, Taeline will not attack us. You see, you conquered the Taeline. They are Feloran now. It is the Feloran Empire that is in the process of conquering Telar."
They arrive at the headquarters of the Telar High Council, and Everline comes face to face with her older self. The older Everline recounts the story of the defeat of the Taeline Home Fleet and the subsequent war with Telar.
"The Taeline could not be allowed to exist, and certainly not under the control of a Meladri. We had no choice but to do everything in our power to prevent it. And now, our fears have proven justified. We were friends once, Ev. And as your friend, I'm begging you to turn away from this path before it's too late."
"Too late?" Everline wonders. "Your ships are ddestroyed, your armies defeated. Except for a few holdouts, Telar is mine. What time do you suppose is left, Kit?"
"Only this," she answers. "This one last chance to abandon this madness before we have no choice left but to stop you. For good."
Just then, Belemon appears to challenge the Deltas' ability to interfere. "You all call on a power that's far beyond this mortal realm. The kind of power that has balances put in place against it. Upset that balance and you open a door that you won't be able to close. Do you even know what you'll unleash?"
And to prove his belief, Belemon attacks!
Just as the battle begins, Straxus takes the young Everline and teleports them both outside. There, they see the Telarian Deltas descending upon the building for the final battle...
