About us...
Hello.
We are the 14th Hull St Johns Newland Rainbow Guides. We meet regularly every Monday night. We currently have 20 Rainbows in our unit. When we go to our Rainbow meetings we do lots of interesting activities and have lots of fun! Rainbows are aged between 5 and 7. We started in 1988 and will continue to carry on well into the next millennium! Take a look at what we do, and what it is like being a Rainbow Guide.
Leaders
In our unit we have 2 Guiders, 2 unit helpers, 2 Young Leaders and a Brownie who comes every week to help. We are all named after woodland animals, there is Badger, Vixen, Fox, Cub, Eagle and Rabbit.
News...
Congratulations to Vixen on achieving your long service bar.
Well done to everyone who supported us at our toy and book auction. We raised £72.41 for the Guide friendship fund which will be used to re-equip units, re-build units, or for projects to help affected communities in the areas which were devastated by the Tsunami.
Congratulations to Eagle on becoming head girl at Hymers.

The Rainbow Guide Promise
I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful.
Our Rainbow Guide Prayer
Dear God,

I try to be a good Rainbow Guide,
at home, at school, at play,
Please help me my  Lord Jesus to keep my promise everyday.

Amen.
Hello I'm Olivia and this is Rainbow Rabbit...
Hi, I come to Rainbows every week to see all my friends at Rainbows. My name is Flopsy and I wear a red tabard just like all the other Rainbows! I even go to church parade and two Rainbows carry me to the altar where I sit throughout the service. When the Rainbows get upset I give them a hug and the tears soon go away.

What do we wear?
We wear tabards in all colours of the rainbow. Our unit has chosen to wear red tabards and we have badges like the ones opposite. The rainbow is the first badge you are given when you first start and then when you make your promise you get the green promise badge. When you have been with us a year you get a Birthday badge. You can wear what ever you like underneath, although you can buy a special Rainbow T-shirt, shorts and a baseball cap, which are all green.
There is also a special badge for the Millennium for the rainbows to wear on their pocket.

Rainbows around the world
We have Rainbows in the UK, they are all over the world too, but they may not be called Rainbows, or wear the same uniform but they are all part of the Guiding movement. Every year on the 22nd of February we think about everyone all over the world, this is known as Thinking Day. To find out more about guiding around the world click on the spinning globe on your left.
Why not read the story of Noah's Ark and find out why its significant to Rainbows! Click on the book on you right to read it
